I love cooking, and I have a food blog. If you want to visit, here is the address: http://dishingwithdish.blogspot.com/I now live overseas again.... I like trying Portuguese (and many other) recipes. I love to cook and bake. I try a new recipe most nights of the week. I hardly ever use cookbooks anymore, although I do still love looking at them. I enjoy learning about health and nutrition..sometimes that is reflected in my cooking, sometimes not!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I love making cookies, brownies, special cakes, and other fun desserts. In my baked goods, I usually replace at least some of the white flour with whole wheat. Usually you can't even tell- if anything, stuff tastes better! I also make a lot of chicken dishes. I am always on the lookout for my next one!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom makes a great Thanksgiving dinner. We're never together on Thanksgiving, but I carry on the tradition of her great food, throwing in my own specialties of course! My little family is having fun creating new traditions, mixing the old and the new.
My cooking triumphs
I'm trying to master yeast breads and still have a lot to learn. It's a good feeling to have a loaf of bread you've made with your own two hands. I've also recently tackled making fudge. Anything that turns out well and is delicious is a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
Going to answer the door for the mailman one time while I was making praline sauce.... didn't work out for me so well.
