About this Cook
I'm 28 and just moved (permanently) to Germany with my husband and 3 year old Golden Retriever. I love home cooking and making everything family style. I also have Celiacs so everything I make is gluten-free. Sounds gross??? Most of my guests can't even tell what I serve them is gluten free.
My favorite things to cook
1.Bacon mac & cheese with a layer of spinach. 2. Chicken noodle soup 3. Leg of Lamb 4. Salomon cooked in a spicy spinach- tomato sauce served over pasta 5. BBQ chicken 6. maple glazed pork chops 7. Butterscotch pudding 8. Carrot Cake 9. Veggie Lasagna 10. hmmmm????
My favorite family cooking traditions
Use soy sauce in almost every marinade. It's low calorie and adds great flavor. Same with garlic- the more garlic the better!
My cooking triumphs
I cooked my first whole duck this year and it was crisped to perfection!
My cooking tragedies
I sometimes have a hard time thickening sauces especially for Asian dishes. I think it's because I use GF soy sauce.

Pasta with Italian Sausage and Pumpkin Sauce
So yummy, great for a fall day. I used turkey sausage too lower some of the calories- still had great flavor. I also added pumpkin pie spice- a lot! I love pumpkin! I didnt use the full can of chicken broth, only about 3/4 of a cup. I also only used the half/half cream instead of the sour cream. It was aleeady SO creamy and rich. Instead of normal pasta noodles i put this sauce on top of 'Zucchini noodles' you can geat the recipe from this site. It was a filling and delicious low carb pasta dish!

Praline Pecan French Toast
So yummy! Followed the recipe exactly except I used gluten free bread. Made it for my dad and my husband.... My dad didn't even know it was gluten free because it was so freaken amazing! Couldn't be easier and the toasted nuts give it a bit of saltiness. Yum yum!

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice
Wow amazing! Definitely the best homemade orange chicken dish that I have ever tried... And I have tried a few! I used the comment to coat the chicken in cornstarch before and it made such a nice coating. Not the deep fried texture you get from fast food. Also this means you don't need to do the extra step of adding more corn starch because it thickens all by itself. also really easy to make this gluten free- just use GF soy sauce! I also doubled the sauce and the chicken so that I would have left overs. Can't wait to have it again tonight!
