Pasta e Olio

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2014
We used fresh angel hair pasta and sprinkled it generously with fresh parmesan after plating it. I never knew something so quick and simple could be so delicious! We'll be making this often.

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

1/2 cup sugar ruined the recipe for me. I'd try it again with only a tablespoon of sugar.

Garlic Seasoned Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2014
Quick and easy and made with ingredients everyone probably already has. They were cooked perfectly but I feel as though they lacked flavor. I might like to add more seasoning next time.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2014
Simple and delicious. The butter made the breast meat very tender. The gravy I made from the pan drippings was fantastic.

Restaurant-Style Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
Great recipe as long as you don't want to make gravy from the drippings. The tin foil and flour coating make that difficult. But I did like that it was easy to clean up afterwards. I had a really small roast that was just over 2 lbs which was done in about 45 minutes, so I cooked my potatoes in the roast pan with the roast and they were both done at the same time.

Peanut Butter Cookies IV

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
Delicious! I found a big difference when baking on two different baking sheets. My insulated "cookie" baking sheet resulted in soft, crisp cookies and my regular baking sheet produced crunchy, slightly darker cookies, even though I baked both for 10 minutes. I got 20 cookies out of the recipe because I like them a little larger. Also I didn't use all of the sugar for decoration. Less than 1/4 cup was enough for 20 cookies.

Quick and Easy Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
I only got 9 yorkshire puddings out of this recipe because we like them a little bigger. They turned out perfectly and were quick and easy to make. Will definitely make them again.

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
Way too much salt. A whole teaspoon! Yikes. It made our mouths burn. Aside from that, great recipe and we will make it often (with maybe 1/4 tsp of salt max).

German Pancake with Buttermilk Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
This was delicious! I loved it so much that I made another pancake the next day so I could use up the leftover sauce (we found that the recipe made twice the amount of sauce that we needed). Next time I will definitely cut the sauce ingredients in half and keep the rest of the recipe the same - unless I want some extra for another pancake or french toast the next day.

Picante Chicken

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
I used salsa and the chicken was juicy and delicious. I will definitely make this often. However, if using 2 chicken breasts as the recipe states, DO NOT use a LARGE saucepan (as per the recipe directions). My salsa got all dried up and the bottom of the chicken was burnt. This is why I took off a star. If it had said SMALL saucepan, I would have given full marks. I also added grated cheddar cheese on top of the chicken for the last 10-15 minutes and served with sour cream. It was like a quesadilla without the tortilla and this is the way I will continue to make it.

Beef Fried Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
Great way to use up leftovers! Instead of the ground beef I used some leftover roast beef. The only thing was that it didn't have quite enough flavor for me. I added some extra soy sauce and my husband put some hot sauce on his. I think many people would like the fact that this recipe isn't very salty though.

Tara's Chicken

Nice easy recipe. I like that the chicken is boiled in water instead of fried in a pan since I'm watching my fat consumption.

Calamari in Red Wine and Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
Fantastic. I omitted the olive oil and Romano cheese because I didn't think it was necessary. I did find that there was too much sauce in proportion to the calamari though so I doubled the amount of calamari. Also, this is best served on rice since it is so saucy (even with the calamari doubled).

Aunt Edith's Baked Pancake

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
Really good, reminds me of yorkshire pudding. Mine didn't puff up as nicely as the picture, but it may be because the oven wasn't hot enough when I put the pan in.

Chicken Parmigiana

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
This is one of my favorite meals but I prefer it when the breasts are pounded really thin. And it takes much less time to cook this way which is a definite plus. I also prefer to brown the chicken in a frying pan, and then cook it in the oven with the sauce and cheese for 20 min. I serve it with plain white rice.

Welsh Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
This bread had a really nice flavour, but the dough was extremely wet and sticky. I finished the bread off in the oven but even though I greased my bread pan, after 30 minutes, the loaf ended up burning and sticking to the pan and I had to scrape it out with a spatula. I would not make this recipe again, but I might try adding raisins to one of my favorite caraway rye bread recipes. I think it would have the same flavor without the mess.
