About this Cook
I love to cook I think because my mother loved to cook and it was always so joyous at mealtime. The holidays were amazing and I want my children to grow up with wonderful memories too. I am Sicillian so I think it's in my blood to love to cook anyway. LOL
My favorite things to cook
TRUE Italian lasagna with ricotta NOT cottage cheese (I cringe when non Italians try to tell ME how to "improve" on my lasagna or how to make it "authentic", it's usually those that don't get recipe requests from co workers that try to make me feel like they know more about Italian food than I, a full blooded Italian does) I usually end up laughing at their comments and walking away, Anyway LOL, Roasted turkey with whole cloves of garlic, I love to bake just about anything. I love to cook especially around the holidays when family and friends are around to enjoy it.To share something home cooked or baked is the BEST gift I can imagine giving.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The Italian lasagna which is served as well as the usual turkey and sides on Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve we ALWAYS order real Italian deli meats and make subs and eat and laugh and play with our new "toys" all night after Santa Clause has come.
My cooking triumphs
I made a perfect pie crust. I was in shock because my crusts have never turned out and I really don't like the store bought crusts. I was very excited and so was my husband. LOL
My cooking tragedies
I have no luck with rolls or garlic bread. I do not know why but I burn them everytime. LOL
