Berry Bread Pudding with Brown Sugar Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
I found this recipes a few years ago and forgot to review it. I was surprised that it did not have more reviews. This recipe is delicious! I did not have enough french bread so I used half french and half croissant. I also used the frozen berry mix from Costo and added 1 cup more - fabulous!! I also used cream cheese, confectioners sugar, vanilla and brandy for the sauce - Wow! I have also used Agave Syrup in place of some of the sugar. Great Recipe! Give it a try. Thanks Jeannie for the awesome recipe!

Oma's Fabulous Matzo Ball Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
My Mom just came home from the hospital and was craving matzo ball soup. I had never made it before or tried it before so I decided to try this recipe. What a hassle! This recipe take so much time and dirties so many different pots that I would not make it again. I added a ton of salt and used salted crackers but it still was very bland and doughy. I tried to cook the matzo crackers until they were dry like the recipe said but after 2 hours of cooking them, they were still slightly moist. I gave up and went with them anyway. The onions were overkill and I like onions. The recipe did not specify what size onion, so I used 1 small and 1 medium onion - still too much! I think they would be better if they were sauted before being added to the crackers. They remained raw and crunchy which was not very good combined with the mushy dough. Oh! And the mess this creates in a kitchen! The first large skillet I used was not big enough and every time I tried to 'flip' the crackers to dry them out, some would flop out onto the stove and floor. I don't know how I could have gotten the crackers 'dry'. I poured them into a collander and pressed them to remove as much water as I could from them. Maybe drying them in the oven would have been better... Anyway - this is my first bad review but I was very disappointed with the mess and the results. Sorry Oma.

Naan

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
Oh WOW! This turned out so much better than the Naan at my favorite Indian Restaurant! I mixed everything in my KitchenAid Mixer. I proofed my yeast by heating the water to 115 degrees and adding 1 tsp of the sugar to the water. I obmitted 1 tsp of the salt in the dough because I added garlic salt to my butter to brush on the outside. I also heated my oven to 200 degrees and then turned it off before putting the dough in there to rise. It turned out so good - Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Indian Style Basmati Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
Excellent results! I did not have whole spices so I used powdered. I used 1 tsp each of the Cardamon, cloves and Cinnamon. I also did not soak my rice - I just added it to the oil with the onion and sauted it until it was golden. Excellent served with Naan and Chicken Tikka!! Thanks for the delicious recipe!!

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
Yum! The first time I made this I followed the recipe exactly. It turned out extremely hot (but delicious). I was the only one that could stomach eating it unfortunately... The second time I made it, I obmitted the cayenne and jalapeno - Very good!! The cumin gave it enough oomph but was able to be devoured by the kids and husband. No leftovers this time. I served it with the Naan (by Mic) and Indian style basmati rice (by Dhan0923) recipes on this website - WOW! What a meal!! One note of advice: Double your recipe - 3 chicken breasts are not enough for 2 adults and 2 small children.

These were delicious! I took the advice of others and increased the salt by 1 teaspoon. I also brushed them with egg whites for the last 10 minutes of baking. They turned out beautiful! Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Lasagne Verdi al Forno

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
This recipe is fabulous! I desperately looked for chicken livers but could not find any in the small rural Minnesota town that I live in - still it turned out better than any recipe that I have ever created. I used Bertoli lasagne pasta and added spinach to my meat sauce. Next time I will definately double the recipe to make 2 because the one went so fast that there was no left overs. Thank you for this incredible recipe!!

Very Berry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
I thought these were delicious! I upped the brown sugar to 1/3 cup which was fine because I like to taste the berries more than the sugar. I also used the frozen berry mix from Costco (blueberries, raspberries, marion berries). I also did not mind that is was just oozing with berries - Yum! Thanks for this recipe!

Brazilian Chicken with Coconut Milk

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
This is the second time that I have made this dish. The first time it was WAY too hot but I thought with a few changes I could get a dish that everyone could enjoy. I did not have Turmeric or fresh ginger. I omitted the turmeric and used powdered ginger. I completely omitted the cayenne since my Cumin is hot enough. I also stirred in a small can of crushed pineapple and used mild Rotel for the tomatoes. I also omitted the Jalepenos. Served over rice with a garnish of Cilantro it turned out edible & delicious for this family of Minnesotans. Thanks!

These are REALLY good with a couple of changes. I HATE raisins so I used all craisins. I also reduced the white sugar to 1/2 a cup. They were plenty sweet and delicious. Thanks for the awesome cookie recipe!!

I have rated this cookie before but the review before this one made me laugh. This is the EXACT recipe for the Neiman Marcus recipe. You can even check yourself. I thought this was funny that they said the other recipe was better! Anyhow - this cookie is AWESOME no matter where you get the recipe.

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2005
This recipe is great! I goofed and mixed the egg into the batter and they still turned out. I used craisins instead of raisins and made 4 huge ones instead of 8 smaller ones. I had to modify the temperature and the time a bit to cook them on the inside. I will definately make these again - delicious!!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2005
Wow! These are really great! I didn't have fresh blueberries so I substituted a frozen blend of blueberries, marionberries and raspberries. Fantastic!! I was worried about the consistancy of the batter - it seemed too thick but it baked wonderfully. Thanks for the great recipe - Yum Yum!!
