This was just okay. Probably won't make it again.

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
Didn't care for this much. I'd suggest going for a hollandaise sauce instead.

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
This was really good. It was too spicy for me so I'd cut back on the chili pepper next time, but still very tasty.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
I thought this was outstanding and all of my guests really liked it as well and made comments about how good it was. I'm not even a big fan of tomatoes but I really liked this. Used dried basil because I couldn't find fresh at the store and it was still fine.

Carrot Spread Surprise

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
This was pretty good, not outstanding. I liked it better with certain types of crackers. The combination of dip with wheat crackers was better than with white or butter crackers. I might make it again.

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
This was okay. The meatballs were a bit bland and I ended up using way too much spinach since I was measuring frozen spinach. But it was decent.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
This is pretty good, but I feel is too salty. I added some celery, carrots and peas as well. Glad I did otherwise I think it would be kind of boring with just chicken. Wish I had added more of the vegetables.

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
The taste of this was pretty good but I wished it wasn't so dry. Maybe it was because I used splenda instead of white sugar but the apples were really dry and I like to have some syrup in the apple mixture.

Easy Turkey Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
This is good. I sauteed some garlic, frozen green beans and half an onion until tender, added mushrooms and frozen peas at the end before following the rest of the sauce instructions. I also used two cans of cream of celery soup and it came out at the right consistency. Sprinkled a mixed white-cheese blend on top and in the last 5 minutes added a small can of french fried onions. It was a good mid-week dinner.

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
I really liked this recipe. Tried different fillings-mostly red bell peppers, black beans, refried beans and enchilada sauce. They were all good. Will definitely make again.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
Used a 2.5lb roast and beef broth instead of water but otherwise followed all the measurements exactly. By the time it was done cooking (did pull it out 2 hrs before done, shred the meat and put it back in) the meat had soaked up all the liquid and it was super moist and flavorful. Really good.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
These were pretty good right out of the oven, but the crumb topping gets very soggy after a short period of time. 4 stars for being good initially but I won't be making these again.

Linguine with Peppers and Sausage

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2006
This is just okay. Kind of bland. I would have added more sausage as it had the most flavor and I also added some spices like others mentioned. Roasted red peppers might also be better than regular. I'd also add mushrooms if I were to make it again.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2006
This recipe is really good. I like the filling on top of rice as well. However I would strongly suggest doubling the sauce otherwise it comes out a bit dry

Chinese Firecrackers

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2006
These may have been okay when dipped in sweet&sour sauce. But I tried the filling before going to all the trouble of making the wraps and didn't like it much. The recipe for Asian Lettuce Wraps is much tastier.

Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2006
I was really surprised by this. I've made similar dishes which usually turn out pretty bland but since this had such good ratings I thought I'd try it. It's really good! The basil is a great touch just make sure to follow the recipe and not put in too much. I can easily tell how it could be overpowering and ruin the dish if you add too much. I'd suggest changing the veggie mix a little by adding mushrooms, more onions, a few diced potatoes and green beans would be nice and cut down on the peas.
