Grilled BBQ Shrimp with Citrus Corn Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2015
Made it as-is (but forgot to put the bbq sauce on it). Was very good.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2015
Good. Probably don't need as much oil as it calls for. Turned the leftover drippings into sauce. The sauce turned out just okay.

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2015
Good but needs something extra... Onion or herbs. Couldn't taste much horseradish flavor even though we were using a strong one.

Threw it all in a pot on the stove. Needed salt. Added pineapple, chopped peanuts and cilantro.

Smoky Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2015
Good but next time I'll try adding a little vinegar to make them a bit tangier.

Sweet Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2015
I liked these a lot. Others thought they were too sweet. Next time cut down a little on both the salt and sugar and use smoked paprika instead of regular.

White Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2015
Trashy, but good. Added 2x the salsa and a full can of chicken broth. Tastes more like a chip dip than a chili, but does make for a good dip-as-dinner.

The Best Bean and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2014
Very good - made some modifications due to slow cooker versus stovetop. Added baby bella mushrooms, forgot to add lemon juice (try next time), skip the extra salt, used 2C vegetable and 3C chicken stock instead of what was called for and used a slow cooker for 8.5hrs after soaking and boiling the beans as instructed.

This was just okay. Not nearly as good as what I've had at restaurants. Won't be making it again.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2014
Next time would mix the custard into the bananas rather than bake them in layers. The custard comes out very firm (more like jello than pudding). Might also be good to sautee the bananas with butter and brown sugar or honey and maybe some brandy to give them more flavor.

Farmer's Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2014
Suggest sauteing mushrooms and onions, and then mixing all of the ingredients together rather than layering. Added some corn, garlic powder and oregano. Took a bit longer to set in the middle. Maybe needed a little more salt&pepper.

Garlic Mashed Cauliflower

Reviewed: May 26, 2014
Great flavor but be sure to squeeze the moisture out of the cauliflower. I had to add potato flakes to mine because they started off too runny.

Sweet Pork for Burritos

Reviewed: May 6, 2014
Fantastic! Used 1 cup of brown sugar and didn't bother to puree the salsa. Suspect diet soda would work fine. Ate on tortillas with chopped green onions and cilantro. Cooked on low over night and then a few more hours on low with the seasonings. Let it sit overnight in the fridge and then heated it up.
