Pineapple Crisp

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
This was very good but not excellent. I found the topping to be absolutely delicious, but the pineapple portion of the cake was just okay. I think I would have preferred it to be more sweet. I think I'll try making this again with the pineapple in heavy syrup...it might make it more flavorful.

Baked Pineapple

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
This was pretty good. It has a very interesting, different flavor. I couldn't quite get used to eating cheddar cheese with pineapple, but it wasn't bad. I might make it again.

Easy Platz (Coffee Cake)

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
I used raspberries instead of blackberries (I don't like blackberries). I wasn't a fan of this cake. The flavor seemed off for some reason. I brought it to a family get together, and very little of it was eaten. I did have a couple of people say they really liked it, though. I wouldn't make this again or, if I do, I'll try it with a different kind of fruit.

Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
Delicious! This doesn't store well for very long because the bananas turn a very unappealing black, but the flavor is wonderful. Everyone raved about it. It's the most moist cake I've ever had. I followed other suggestions and used three bananas. I also used a mixture of vanilla pudding and cool whip for the frosting. Soooo good.

Roll-Out Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
These are pretty good. They have a very subtle flavor. My mother thought they had no taste, but the rest of the family liked them. They're also pretty easy to make and don't stick. I'd use this recipe again.

Chocolate Dream Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
This cake is soooo rich. The taste is good and moist, but it's extremely messy, and it's so heavy that you can only have a couple bites. I made this for Thanksgiving, and my family thought it was so-so. Only one person cleaned his plate, which is unusual in my family. It wasn't bad, but I probably won't make this again.

Pumpkin Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
When I made this recipe, it looks nothing like the photo. It looks like a dark cornbread, with a taste and consistency of a cross between pumkpin bread and pumpkin pie. I used this as a side dish, but it could also be a dessert, if you warm it up and put ice cream or whipped cream on top. The taste was very good and unique. I had people asking for the recipe, and it's so easy to make. Especially appropriate on Thanksgiving. I recommend serving it heated.

Baked Applesauce

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
Wow, this was AMAZING! I sliced the apples thinly and added slightly more vanilla and cinnamon than the recipe calls for. When I took it out of the oven, I mashed it very lightly and then left it. I actually liked this with big chunks/slices. I made more apple slices/chunks than applesauce, but it was a huge hit! Sooo delicious. Just to note, this uses a LOT of apples. The recipe calls for 2 large apples for 2 servings, but I think it's more like 4 large apples for 2 servings.
