Elegant Turkey Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2014
I used ciabatta bread cut into cubes. I added fresh Concord grapes cut in half instead of apples. I cut the orange liqueur with orange juice to keep all ages happy.

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
I doubled the recipe, used only 1.5 cups of sugar and added a cup of fresh figs off my tree for sweetness. I added orange zest from one orange and a dash of ground clove. I jarred three portions for later.

Bourbon Fig Compote

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2014
I had tons of fresh figs from a tree out back, so I used about two plus cups of fresh diced figs. I also have some fancy balsamic vinegars: traditional balsamic, black cherry balsamic and Sicilian lemon white balsamic which I used in 3 parts. I used a sweeter scotch since I didn't have bourbon. I reduced on low for quite a while, maybe 40

Sesame Green Bean Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
Delicious! I would suggest cooking the beans a little less, maybe 6/7 min. I used Tamari soy sauce and rice wine vinegar. I think next time I might try adding some ginger (or pickled ginger) to the recipe, but it is perfect on it's own.

Megan's Granola

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2011
Awesome! I use 1/2 cup maple syrup and 1/2 cup honey (brown sugar only when I'm out of one of these). I've thrown in coconut and flax seeds as well.

Fig Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
This is the biggest win! I have suitably impressed my roommates, neighbours, colleagues and friends. Everyone LOVES this recipe. NOTE to anyone trying out the icing for the first time. I was not expecting the icing to foam before turning rich brown. My judgment told me to turn down the heat, but I trusted the thermometer.

Mom's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I can't believe it took me this long to make a real crust. I substituted some locally grow whole wheat to see how that would work. I liked it, though the crust was a bit tougher to roll out.

Easy Pie Crust

By far my guiltiest pleasure. I make this all the time, and I tell myself I am choosing the healthier "vegan" option as I pour the oil in! :-D

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
This is my favourite muffin recipe of all times. I use it all the time. I have made more batches of these than I could ever remember. I substitute the instant coffee with espresso (fresh). I substitute the all-purpose flour for whole wheat. I make them all organic and they are to die for!!
