hi, Im Danielle, i am busy working mom and i love to cook for my family of four. i was raised in a very traditional world and married into a very modern family. I pretty much lived in the kitchen growing up with the smell of portuguese food boiling over the stove, so to me the warmest heart felt place to be is in the kitchen and i try to share that with my verrrrrryyyy large extensive family lol. it is hard to cook some of those meals of my childhood cus they take a long time but i beleive in the end of hard day a full house and a full stomach is the best part of the day. i hope to share some of these recipes and maybe even meet a few people with the same background who can help me bring those recipes that i crave for but cannot find back to the table.
My favorite things to cook
baguette,portuguese round bread, dinner rolls, lobster ravioli, Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, Pork Tenderloin Medallions (the kids LOVE THIS)Torta di Tiramisu, Bolo de bolacha maria and on and on and on.............
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every fall our family tries to get friends and family together to do a potluck cookoff. what we do is everyone whom participate, usually no more the 20 people, places a name of a meal(entre,app,desert dosnt matter) in a hat, then the hat goes around and another person would pick the meal out and have to cook it for the get together. usually our gatherings are a month apart so we have time to find a good recipe, but its deff funny to see people try to cook something they never had to before. oh and by the way if anyone else trys to do this remember to spell the name of the meal CORRECTLY and CLEARLY...... it does make a diff when your trying to write beef stroganoff and the reciever reads bean stalking.. you fig that one out i had no idea what bean stalking was i just brought bread lol

you know when you go to a resterant and you like OMG I WANT TO MAKE THIS AT HOME!!!! well we have a mediterranean resterant that makes this amazing chocolate mouse sponge cake pyramid... it is to die for.. but i had tried for months to get this recipe. i got the concept but their was always somehing missing... it took me dozens of differant tries to find what was different why couldnt i make mine taste like that. i know it was a liqued because of the taste, adding another solid substance ruined the texture. what could it be!! was it a liquor?, a cream? was it whipped or is it soaked into the cake? could it be intergrated into the mouse? i was pulling my hair out for this. so how did i fig it out?? this is going to sound dumb, one day i was attempting to make these darn things for the 100th million time and my husband made me an espresso. and of course any one who knows me know i am the most accident challenged human being in the world, and i spilled some on top of one of the pyrimads i
