Chicken Ranch Pizza with Bacon

Tastes like soup on a crust. Can't taste the cheese at all and the bacon is barely noticeable. I'll try a different recipe next time. Boo.

Buffalo Chicken Burgers with Blue Cheese Dressing

This isn't a bad recipe. It is nice and moist and chewy and I like the crunch the celery adds. However, it is rather bland and has nowhere near the flavor of buffalo wings. I topped my burgers with sriracha but it wasn't enough; the burgers themselves need more kick. Next time, I will add more sauce and seasonings. Also I did not care for the dip. The sour cream reminded me of yogurt. I would just use blue cheese alone next time.

Sweet Potato Pie I

I recently tested this out hoping I could find a recipe to really wow my family come Thanksgiving. I was skeptical but holy smokes, this is fantastic. In the weeks since I made the pie, I've found myself randomly craving it. I have one minor complaint, which is unrelated to the recipe itself. I only wish it had included how long it takes for the pie to cool. From the time I started boiling the sweet potato to the time the pie was cool enough to cut was over 4 hours. So next time I won't start making it at 6PM. Other than that. YUM. 5 stars.

Pasta Primavera with Italian Turkey Sausage

This is quite tasty and pretty spicy, just how I like it. The recipe says it will be ready in 50 minutes; took me twice as long. Cutting uncooked sausage into 1/2 inch slices is a pain in the neck. It would have made more sense had the recipe suggested cooking the sausage first. The idea that all the ingredients could fit in a large skillet is absurd. They barely fit in a large pot. With whole wheat pasta, it is VERY filling.

Green Chile Frittata

It is somewhat bland and as others have said, you can hardly taste the chiles. I may try this again as a base, but I will probably just look for a different frittata recipe. O well.

Teena's Spicy Pesto Chicken and Pasta

I doubled the amount of of chile paste and still couldn't taste it at all. So much for the "spicy" part. So I added 3 more tablespoons and a ton of garlic. That made it much more palatable. Surprised how bland this is without any alterations. Good starting point, though.

Pesto Pasta with Chicken

Delicious. The best pasta recipe I've found so far on this site. Often times I find myself adding ingredients for more flavor but this recipe was fantastic as is, no changes necessary. I will make this again and again.

Best Brownies

I'd give these 2.5 stars if I could, but since I can't, I'll be nice. I wish I thought these were the best brownies. They're OK, but God, it would have been easier and tastier for me to run to the store and pick up some Entenmann's brownies. Also, 16 servings?? What?! This makes 16 servings if you consider one serving to be a brownie the size of a quarter.

Creamy Hot Cocoa

I reduced the sugar, per other reviewers' suggestions. What a silly mistake. It was so bitter, I couldn't even drink it. Apparently, I am the only person in the universe with a sweet tooth. So I added more sugar to my mug until it was palatable. Still not very good. It was drinkable, but not for me. Didn't even finish it. I'd rather the packets than this. I'll keep looking for a worthy homemade hot cocoa recipe. Sorry.

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

2.5 stars. I'm being generous. There's no way this will be ready in 25 minutes. It took me an hour. Even if I somehow speed-cooked, 25 minutes is completely unrealistic. As for the food, it was OK. Pretty bland. So then I doubled the garlic AND the crushed red pepper. It was better but not by much. I won't make this again. Sorry.

My Crab Cakes

I had never even eaten crab before I tried these. They were fantastic! I used the garlic aioli recipe on here, but my lemon juice was expired and putrid so I just used garlic and mayo. Delicious. YUM YUM YUM

Mashed Sweet Potatoes

Not bad. The maple syrup flavor is very strong. They taste like breakfast. Maybe next time I will use a lighter syrup. My girlfriend loved them, though!

Pumpkin Pancakes

These don't taste like anything. Update: I had some leftover pumpkin puree so decided to try them again. Halved the recipe, kept the pumpkin puree at 1 cup and doubled the spices, added nutmeg, and cloves. Has the faintest taste of of the spices, no pumpkin taste, and mostly tastes like nothing still. Sorry, can't even give it 2 stars still.
