Sweet Corn Cake
Sorry but this was really greasy with an insane amount of butter, and took longer to cook than noted for a dinner party which was stressful.

Creamed Chipped Beef On Toast
Don't take off stars for saltiness -- just soak the torn beef in water for a few minutes to your taste! My grandma and mom always sauteed in butter 'till softened then sprinkled over the flour to easily cook a roux before adding milk gradually while stirring and mushing to smooth the gravy. Like others here we double the sauce. Buddig's seems chopped and formed to me; real air-dried beef is almost never seen in groceries but we go online to Dakin Farm (about $20 a lb.) or Harringtons (about $25 lb) and the quality is worth it. For another savory down home comfort food go back to fried Taylor Pork roll slices on toast or fried bread with mayo!

Chicken Jalfrezi
Perfect just the way it is, thanks Alia! Delicious, simple and forgiving (I accidently chopped instead of grated the onion, didn't debone the cicken and dumped all the spices in at once and it was still great.) Use Mexican chili powder for those who like mild; tumeric is so good for you - keep it in!
