Nova Scotia Blueberry Cream Cake

Reviewed: May 22, 2005
I made this a second time and it was fabulous! The first time I did not mix the berries and the creamed mixture. What a difference and what a great dessert. My entire family loved it. Just make sure to mix the berries and cream-not layer them as I did first time around.

I used jarred sauce to save time and made 2 layers of sauce ravioli and cheese. Very quick and tasty.

Nutty Pina Colada Biscotti

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
I made these for a luau themed party at work. I almost didn't take them b/c I was afraid too many people wouldn't like the pineapple or coconut but then figured oh well I made them so take them and I thought they were good. Of all the items I've made from this site over the years, this one got more positive results than any other. I had so many requests for the recipe and the men loved it!!! One told me to go into business and sell these cookies. Even my kids loved the crumbs that were left over so I guess I'll be making them again. Not a difficult recipe and so worth the time.

Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2005
Very good and easy. I used a smaller loaf of french bread so had 18 slices in the pan. Next time I would cut the bread in 1/2 inch slices. They absorbed too much of the egg/milk mixture so the top half of the bread was dryer than I would like.

Corn Pudding II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
I followed the directions exactly except the baking time was at least 1/2 hour longer than it stated here. It is a very easy and quick casserole to put together. And I served 12 people this with plently leftover for the next night.

Restaurant-Style Potato Skins

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2005
Delicious! I made a single batch of these and cut them into quarters instead of halves. They were all gone in 2 minutes flat. You need to be careful when cooking in the oil. Mine definitely did not take a full 5 minutes-more like 2-3 depending on how much potato was left on the skin. Will make again but double the recipe. Thanks...this is a winner.

Red, White and Blue Ambrosia

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2007
This is very good but boy it makes a lot. Better have a crowd around for it. I served it at a July 4th barbeque for 17 people and we're still eating it.

Harvest Apple Streusel Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
I made this for work and they loved it. I did add an extra egg and left out the cranberries since I didn't have any. Other than that no changes and everyone wanted the recipe.

Company Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2005
This was pretty good. I agree weith the previous reviewer that you can't taste the dill so either up the amount or leave it out. I would also put 1 1/2 c. cheese into the mixture and leave the last 1/2 c. for the last 20 minutes of baking. It also did not take 1 1/2 hours to bake. One hour is plenty.

Southwest Chicken Salad II

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2005
This was very good. I did add some taco seasoning to the chicken to give it a more southwest flavor and some kick. Love the combo of lettuce and cabbage-took then both from packaged bags so it was easy.

Almond Pound Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2005
Very good but maybe a little heavy on the almond extract. 1 1/2 tsps. wopuld be enough.

Almond Buttercrunch

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2005
Big hit at a church function. I did add a little water to the butter/sugar mixture. It wasn't melting properly. And I also used semi-sweet chocolate chips since that's what I had on hand. Everyone loved it-there was nothing left.

Creamy Parmesan Brussels Sprouts

I have not eaten brussels sprouts in approx 40 years and had a hankering for them one day so I made these. I'm a convert. These were really good and even most of my kids liked them.

Very good and easy. I turned them into little mini muffin cups with oreo crumbs for the base instead of 1 larger pie. Very good and made about 48 individual servings.

Peanut Patties

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
I amde these and the taste was very good. They did not become rounds as I was expecting but stayed rather flat and I did cook all the way to 240. Also tehy stuck to the paper and wouldn't come off. My kids didn't care but I wasn't too pleased.

Penne with Pink Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2005
I added a lot. I put in oregano, garlic, basil, red pepper flakes, and lots more cheese (even some cream cheese). And there was definitely too much vodka for me. 1/2 cup would be plenty . With the revisions, my family enjoyed it alot.

Clam Chowder Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
This was pretty good. I used 1 tsp. Worcerstershire-a tbsp. would have been way too much for me. It tasted more like my mother's old-fashioned tuna-noodle casserole than a clam chowder. Although I like the cheese very much, it masked the chowder flavor. I was a tasty dish, just not quite what I was anticipating. I would make it again though. It was very easy.
