Tangy Turkey and Swiss Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2006
These were very good. I think next time I would use a spicier mustard than I used this time. It needed a little more kick but was very good.

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2006
I loved this! I doubled the sauce as others suggested, cut the salt at least in half, and kept the rest of the spices as written. I didn't have tomato sauce on hand so used a can of stewed instead. Absloutely delicious.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Very good and easy. I made it without bacon for my vegetarian daughter and used veggie broth. It was very tasty. All my kids liked it.

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
This is the best punch recipe I have ever had. I also used ginger ale since I like it better. I made the 2 punch bowls for a church luncheon and they were both gone in 10 minutes. My kids want me to make it and have it on hand in the freezer all the time now. And it stayed slushy the whole time. Yummy.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
I loved this dish. I did change a few things though. I cut the chicken into small pieces since I have severla smaller children. I sauteed the chicken in the bacon fat instead of another skillet and I also sauteed the mushrooms before adding them to the casserole. I will definitely be maing this again.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
THese are very good but for my taste I would add a little cream or milk. They were a little dry for me.

Vegetable Couscous

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2006
I loved this. It was very easy and I prepped the veggies in the food processor so it took hardly any time. I had to use dried basil since my store was out of fresh. It was still great but I know fresh would make it even better.

Hot Corn Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2006
This was ok. I made it as written but was not wow-ed. For my tastes, I think I would replace the chili powder with curry which works really well with corn.

Old Fashioned Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2006
Very, very good. I was a little short on pie dough (I made my own) but the recipe was very good. The apples were nice and tender and the crust was not doughy but crispy and browned well. I topped it with some hot buttered rum batter from this sight. Excellent.

Wassail Punch

I enjoyed this a lot. It was especially nice since it had no added sugar therefore was not overly sweet. Very comforting for the cold christmas season.

Caramels I

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
The flavor was great but they came out harder than chewy. I went to 242 degrees so next time I'll try a lower temperature for a softer candy. Very easy to make and well worth the time.

Eggnog and Cranberry Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
This was pretty good as is. For my tastes, I would make the eggnog layer strictly out of pudding with no lemon jello added. The lemon overpowered the nutmeg so it wasn't as "eggnoggy" as I had hoped. Maybe pudding mixed with cool whip and nutmeg next time. But it was tasty. My father loved it.

Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
This was very tasty and easy but it did take my oven well over 2 hours to get to even the medium rare stage. My family loved it for Christmas dinner-we just ate later than planned.

Very quick and easy. Almost like a green bean casserole but with added veggies and cheese to kick it up. Enjowed it a lot.

Baklava

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
Excellent, excellent, excellent. This is so worth the time it takes to put together. It's not hard at all, just need to invest about an hour to put it all together. But delicious! Will definitely make over and over again.
