Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
I have made many variations of banana bread. This recipe is one of the best. The bread is moist and flavorful. I really like dusting the pans with cinnamon sugar, too. This is much better than dusting with flour!

Chocolate Waffles I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
I received a waffle maker for Christmas, so this was the first recipe I tried. These waffles are so delicious! Everyone wanted seconds. I will definitely be making these again.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2006
I have had different versions of this salad, but this is my favorite so far. I made this for a family get together this weekend, and everyone asked for the recipe. I think it tastes even better the day after making it. It is one of the best salads I've ever had!

These tacos were so easy to make and the flavor is outstanding. I think they tasted even better the next day, after reheating them. I will be making these often!

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2005
I did a lowfat version of this, using reduced fat cheese, fat free sour cream, baked tortilla chips and 7% fat ground beef. It was very easy to put together and it tasted great. Everyone wanted seconds! I will make this one again.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2005
This salad is great! The flavor is amazing. It's very hard to stop eating it. I use the pre-cooked bacon rather than cooking the bacon myself. This saves a lot of time. I'm not a big fan of raisins, but this salad rocks!

Spinach Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2005
This salad was better the day after making it. The flavors came together quite well. Adding cubed salami or cheese would also be good.

Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2005
My mom made these cookies often when my brother & I were small. They are so good! The key is not to overcook them. When my grandma first saw the recipe, she thought Mom had made a mistake....no flour??? Make sure you have plenty of milk to go along with these great cookies.

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2005
This is a really good salad! It's easy to put together and takes almost no time at all. I did substitute white beans for the black, only because I'm not crazy about black beans. I think next time I make this, I will add in some toasted pine nuts. This is definitely a keeper!

Peanut Butter Popcorn

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2005
This is really tasty! It's quick and easy to make. My grandma made something similar to this, only she used honey and white sugar. This is perfect as a late night snack!

This is really good. I omitted the jalapeno peppers and added a can of corn. I served it with crushed tortilla chips on top. Excellent!

Cowboy Hash

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2005
This is a good dish which can be made with many variations. For those that are wondering, Ranch Style Brand Beans are made by a company called ConAgra. They are pinto beans with a very light spicy sauce added to them.

Chicana

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
I first had this dish when visiting an old friend who grew up in Mexico. She serves it with Spanish rice and fresh tortillas. It's so good! I add about half a cup of chopped celery and leave out the cup of water. It's also good as a taco or burrito filling.

Chili Dog Casserole I

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2005
This is super easy and quick to prepare! It tastes just like a chili dog, but without the mess! Like other people, I added 2 cans of chili but will probably use 3 cans next time. I used about a cup of chopped onions and omitted the mustard. I thought there was a bit too much bun for me, so I'll use a little less next time. I can't wait to make this one again!

Skillet Tamale Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2005
I liked the flavor of this and it was quite easy to put together. It turned out a bit too dry for my taste, but it wasn't bad.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2005
This is an easy pie to make and the flavor is great. However, I think I cooked the filling too long because it turned out quite firm. Also, after chilling the pie, it was very runny. I will attempt this again, though.

This fudge is super easy to make, but it remained quite soft. It still tasted good, though.

Pasta e Fagioli II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
Wow, is this good! The only change I made was I used white beans in place of the red beans. I served it with fresh baked french bread to soak up all of that great sauce! Perfect on a cold rainy night!
