Watergate Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
This is a classic. I made it when my son had friends staying over. I used 2 packages of pistachio pudding, 20oz can of pineapple, and I used almost the entire carton of "lite" whipped topping. Next time I think I will add some sliced maraschino cherries. YUM.

Greek Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
This was pretty good. I left out the black olives only because I am not a fan. I loved the flavors in the dish, and next time I am going to use a little more feta cheese. I added some dill weed in place of lemon pepper. This is a great summer salad. Thanks for sharing.

Corny Mexican Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
This was yummy! I only added one can of black beans, I think two cans would be way too many beans. If you love black beans then add two cans. My son and husband didn't like this very much. I ended up having to eat the entire bowl myself over a weeks time. I will make this again even if it's just for me. Very tasty! Thanks for sharing.

Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
This was good. I am not a huge fan of chuck roast so I think I will try using pork or chicken next time. For those who don't handle spicy foods well, I suggest only adding half the jar of peppers and juice. If you find it too spicy you can always dilute with water to tone it down for your tastes. We enjoyed the spice, but we can handle the heat. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Raspberry Oatmeal Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
These are super easy to make. I followed the recipe just added a full 18oz jar of raspberry preserves for a more fruiter middle. I will try using some lemon juice instead of water next time. Thanks for sharing.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
Made this twice for my son and husband. They loved it! Didn't roll it up, just easier to add layers of beef and cheese. Tastes great, but I thought it was too oily/greasy. I will make again, just have to use very lean beef and will cut down on the amount of cheese used. We top ours with BBQ sauce and serve over mashed potatoes. It is very good.

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts II

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
I have been making these for years. I brush mine with Teriyaki glaze after the bacon gets crispy. Brush glaze on a few minutes before taking them out of the oven. They are so good and I get asked to make them for every work potluck and for every family holiday. Tip: I line a broiler pan with foil and make small cuts so the grease can drain into the bottom without having to take them out of the oven to drain them. I also start them on 450 degrees for 15 min and reduce to 375 for 15. Then I brush them with the sauce and cook another 20 min. I learned to make these from a Pampered Chef Party.

Awesome Spicy Beef Kabobs OR Haitian Voodoo Sticks

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
The flavors were excellent! The only change we will make next time is to use good meat like ribeye steak. I didn't think it was too spicy and ended up kicking it up a notch. Be sure to grill the kabobs as it adds to the great flavor. Thank you for sharing!!

Chocolate Silk Pie with Marshmallow Meringue

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
This was good, but a little too sweet for me. I will make it again as my family really ate it up.

Country-Style Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
I was excited to try this because it sounded so yummy and I feed a family of boys. Let me first say that I followed the recipe exactly. Sad to say that mine turned out very dry and seriously over-cooked. I only left it covered in the oven for 1 hour. I will try it again, and I plan to change the pan frying time to less than five minutes per side. I will adjust the baking time to maybe 30 min., and keep checking until done. Thanks for sharing, I think once I can master the cooking time it will be great!
