I want to say that I *LOVED* this recipe exactly as it was. But, as cooks have a tendency to do, I did start tweeking it here and there to suit my own family.
What I did was double the meat and add 16oz whole mushrooms, chunked, at the onset of cooking. I also added one envelope of dry onion soup mix along with the 1/2 cup chopped onion the recipe calls for and I omitted the water completely to allow for a nice thick sauce. We are watching our weight and I have used fat-free cream cheese with no noticeable change in flavor. Mmmmm!
