About this Cook
the first time i cooked by myself i was 6 years old. my parents worked, and me and my little sister got hungry! i made eggs the first time, then mac n cheese. one time my dad got home early, i was cooking scrambled eggs. i thought he would get mad so i put the pan in the closet, waited for him to go to bed (he worked graveyard). later when he was sleeping i took the pan, finished cooking the eggs, and they turned green!!! yukko! it was a cast iron skillet so maybe that's why they turned green.
My favorite things to cook
i love to use tofu in whatever i can! i love buckwheat too, it is soooo good and good for you.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my grandma taught me to make spaetzle. so when i make chicken "noodle" soup, i do spaetzle instead. it's sooo easy, just make watered down noodle recipe, and cut it into the soup. yummy.
My cooking triumphs
my pizza. i use a stone, make a dough using beer, and use cornmeal on the pan. use lots of sauce, and fresh veggies. my tofu "french fries" my 7 year old just loves! i bread them in flour or cornstarch, and make a sauce with ketchup and mayo, and horseradish. he eats almost the whole batch by himself!
My cooking tragedies
geez, i cannot think of one except for the green eggs!

i like to add knorr tomato boullion, garlic, and pigs feet to mine. the longer you cook the better. good basic recipe. really good comfort food on cold drizzly nights and even better for hangovers so i'm told!

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII
i definately use cast iron, and sub pineapple juice for the water. there is too much batter for my 11 inch skillet so i put the rest of the cake mix in a bread pan and have an extra cake. beautiful and delicious!

Sweet Dinner Rolls
i made these in the machine and followed exactly. i shaped them like a biscuit though. i was in a time crunch and they were not completely done rising so i put them in the oven and they puffed up perfectly! the best dinner rolls ever.
