Steak and Bacon Tournedos

I followed others suggestion of adding a thin layer of pesto and I think it made the dish. It would probably still be good without it, but it definitely gave it an extra splash of flavor. Tasted like something you'd have in a fine restaurant. I used the bacon that comes pre-cooked which helped cut down on prep time and clean up. Only complaint would be it was a bit salty -- maybe cut back on the salt next time.

Strawberry Banana Dessert

I would say I didn't care for this dish. Created a weird taste/texture combination. I should have cut all the 'crust' off the cake it may have helped. Got so-so comments at the event I made it for. Would not make again.

Monkey Peanut Butter Bars

Just alright, I thought they were too dry and didn't taste much of the peanut butter. Expected them to be more moist with the peanut butter, but I think the oats dry them out.

Pretzel Turtles

Pecan Snack

Strawberry Shortcut Cake

Risotto with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Mozzarella

As others suggested, I used 1/2 the amount of cheese and turned out better that way. Would have prefered it without the sun-dried tomatoes. Took 3 times as long to cook as the recipe indicated. Would have to plan further ahead if I make again.

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

I was amazed at how hearty and filling this soup is for being so low in fat and calories. I followed others suggestions and used only 3/4 cup barley and 2 cups more broth. Very tasty with just the right amount of spice.

Easy Beef Goulash

I made this with ground beef instead. It was alright -- I've had better recipes. It was more brothy than I prefer. Would suggest adding more pasta than called for.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

The beer added a different flavor to the soup rather than your typical broth. Next time I would probably experiment with a different type of beer. Had a good kick to it with the taco seasoning, yet not too spicy. Adding the tortillas, cheese and sour cream added a zip to it too.

Banana Crumb Muffins

I made this as a loaf of bread rather than the muffins. Another user suggested baking for 55 minutes but for me that was way too long. 40 minutes was plenty for mine. The crumb topping definately adds something extra. Would make again.

Ultimate Breakfast Casserole

I thought this turned out excellent. I wasn't sure whether to use shredded hash browns or the country style hash browns, but I went with the country style. It made it very hearty and filling. I cut down on the butter as recommended by others but think it could be eliminated completely -- it never crusted over for me. I'd just sprinkle some extra chesse on top. Next time I probably would also add a couple more eggs to even out the proportion of eggs to potatoes.

Charlotte's Tortellini Soup

Was pretty good, though I'd do a few things differently next time. I'd use a spicier sausage and maybe not as much pasta. I thought it overwhelmed the soup and soaked up most of the broth, which made it seem more like a casserole rather than a soup. I also used a small can of tomato sauce rather than the ketchup.

Pasta Salad with Homemade Dressing

Very colorful and tasty salad. Prep time took a little longer than 20 minutes - lots of chopping. After the salad had marinated overnight, it seemed a little dry so I mixed up another small batch of dressing and stirred in to moisten it up a bit. Would definately make again.

Pumpkin Dessert

This dessert was excellent. A nice alternative to pumpkin pie that adds a little pizzazz. I added extra cinnamon, cloves and ginger as others had suggested. Good idea. I also also a bit more brown sugar as the pumpkin batter didn't seem sweet enough before I baked it. Got raves reviews at family gathering.

Spinach and Artichoke Dip

Savory Roll Ups

These were excellent! I wasn't able to find the Jarlsberg cheese at my grocery store so I substituted it with Swiss cheese. I also rolled in a slice of deli ham along with the chesse to add a little variety. Will definately make again!
