Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2015
As someone who doesn't eat veggie burgers regularly, this recipe is super simple and easy to make and goes with a lot of different topping options. We topped ours with a corn salsa, guacamole, onions, tomato, a fried egg, jalapeno-muenster cheese, sriracha garlic chili paste, and sauteed jalapenos. This pairs well with the Quinoa and Black Beans recipe on this site.

Cherry Bomb Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2015
This definitely was a juicy and tasty chicken recipe, I will give the author that. However I think the next time I make this I will lessen the water amount. I felt that the amount of water diluted the other flavors a bit; with three habaneros I feel like there should have been slightly more kick than I received. But all in all this was still really tasty and definitely something I will be making again. This pairs well with something sweet such as the Apple-Stuffed Acorn Squash recipe found on this site.

Apple-Stuffed Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2015
The author of this recipe states that they have it every year on Thanksgiving, and now I can see why. This is a very hearty and sweet dish that is also very filling and tasty. I do agree with others that this is on the sweeter end of things, however it pairs well with a spicy dish such as the Cherry Bomb Chicken recipe found on this site. I did make this recipe exactly as it is written, but for those of you looking for something a little less sweet I would suggest cutting back on the apple and adding some rice to the stuffing; this should help balance out some of the sweetness without taking too much away.

Jalapeno Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2015
I really don't know what I was expecting when I read this recipe, however what I ended up with was an amazing dish! The taste of the peppers really holds well in the steak and gives it a nice spicy feeling in your mouth. You can even go one step further and make the Devil's Steak Sauce recipe on this site to serve with it.

Daddy's Fried Corn and Onions

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2015
This makes an excellent side dish! I made this recipe "as is", however as some users stated I might add either some bacon or a diced jalapeno for some extra kick. Pairs well with the Turkey Cheeseburger Meatloaf recipe on this site.

Turkey Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2015
I really didn't know what to expect with this since I have never really cooked with ground turkey, but it was delicious! The addition of the turkey bacon inside was perfect! Only sub I made was adding some chili-garlic sauce to the glaze that coats the top because we like a little heat. 10/10 would make this again! Pairs well with the Daddy's Fried Corn and Onions recipe on this site.

Wilted Spinach with Cherries and Goat Cheese

Excellent recipe and really easy to change up the amounts without ruining it, making this something your family would enjoy. Pairs well with the Mediterranean Chicken with Eggplant recipe on this site.

Mediterranean Chicken with Eggplant

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2015
All in all this was a pretty tasty dish, however I found that placing the eggplant on the bottom and the chicken on top it dried out the chicken and left the eggplant super mushy. I made this a second time, but this time I placed the chicken on the bottom (and reserved some of the cooked tomato juice) and placed the eggplant on top, then topped everything off with the tomato juice. This left the chicken super moist and left some texture on the eggplant. I also topped with some feta cheese after cooking which added a little extra "umph". This paired well with the Wilted Spinach with Cherries and Goat Cheese recipe on this site.

Classic Fried Rice

Yes! This is perfect restaurant-style fried rice! I only added an extra egg because I love eggs and also cooked this in my wok so that the egg would clump up nicely. Pairs well with the Eggplant with Garlic Sauce recipe found on this site.

Eggplant with Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2015
This is perfect! The only things I did differently was cut up the eggplant and coat in salt and place on a rack to drain out some of the bitter flavor. I also had to use some minced garlic because I ran out of garlic powder. But the dish is excellent! I will be making this a dish I come back to in the future, and it pairs well with the Classic Fried Rice recipe on this site.

Peppers Roasted with Garlic, Basil and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2015
10/10 would make again! This recipe was the perfect side dish for the Butternut Squash-Sweet Potato Ginger Bisque recipe on this site. The only thing I was missing was herb vinegar so I substituted with balsamic and it was perfect! Tons of garlic, tons of flavor, tons of happy tummies around here! ;)

Butternut Squash-Sweet Potato Ginger Bisque

I made this exactly how the recipe wants you too, however I noticed like a handful of others that mine came out more watery then the original photo (perhaps too much water). However, although watery, it was still pretty tasty. I do want to try this again to see if I can get the texture down, and like others said I will add either an apple or applesauce to it. Definitely an easy soup to try if you've never made soup before.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2014
I love this. I love this recipe so much! I have made it multiple times and know I will continue to make it. I have switched over to using fresh green beans instead of canned which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The fresh green beans add a nice fresh taste and texture to this dish. Thank you for sharing this with us!
