Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2015
From the East (MI) I had my share of Wet Burritos. Now in Ohio they don't know what they are! I was glad to see this with red sauce and not the green. When we eat them in MI we are often given the choice of lettuce inside or out. Patron choice, we do inside. I omitted the tomato soup because we like it less runny inside. Since we like things the hotter, I added lots of cumin. I will make these again. I will get the biggest shells I can find to make rolling easier with all my stuffings!! I did add 1 extra can of enchilada sauce after pulling it out of the oven. The wetter the better!

Chicken a la King I

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
Super easy to make, a little bland and this was my changes. I omitted the hot water and used the broth from the chicken I cooked. It was still a little bland. Next time I will add carrots and instead of pimentos, which were flavorless, add some red bell peppers. I served it over rice, which was good but will do biscuits next time. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
This was quick to make. I took it to a dinner party and got good reviews. My husband and I didn't think it had much flavor though. Makes a good piece of toast. Rated this a 4 because of what people thought at the dinner party.

Chicken Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
I added salt and pepper, diced a potato and green pepper from our garden. Next time I will be sure to add carrots from our garden. I did brush the bottom crust with an egg, and the last ten minutes of baking time I brused the top crust with egg wash too. It gave it a golden brown top. I used cream of mushroom soup and added a bunch of fresh sliced mushrooms. Very good.

Pear Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
OK. After reading several review I used unsweetened coconut and left out the dates. I put my 'cake' aka pear bread, in a large loaf pan, and some in a small loaf pan. I left about an inch of space at the top of each pan as it raised level with the pain. I didn't think this had much falvor even though the pears were ripe off my own tree. My husband will be taking it to work tomorrow. Men there eat everything. :)

Adding chopped fresh Basil makes this even better. Grated Parmasean Cheese is another delicious addition.

Restaurant-Style Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
First time making prime rib. Next time I would do what the other half of the cooking population uses for the outside. Pepper and garlic. The cooking time for this particular receipe was very confusing. The written part says to bake for like 5 hours while the top says something like 2 hours. I noticed that after it was at the high temperature for 1 hour 30 minutes. At that time I turned it down to 225 degrees for the remaining 3 hours. I had a 10 pound chunck of meat and the timing worked out good. The meat was medium. I suggest reading the prime rib article to the left side of the page for cooking suggestions. My husband can't wait for me to try prime rib again. Thank you for sharing. I never thought I could make this at home. It was very good.
