About this Cook
My dad is an expert cook, my mother an expert baker. I like both. I have a 3 yr. old son who I've taught not to be picky. For me cooking is a joy, necessity, and often relaxing. Not to mention rewarding!
My favorite things to cook
My greater hobby is eating. So I am trying to have no limitations with the things I try. Every region, and country has it's special style, but there is so much varity out there, how can you limit yourself!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Typical American food. And some old time recipes too. The tradition I hope to pass on is the use of spices and herbs. Native Utahn cooking, I have come to notice, is very limited on this.
My cooking triumphs
I believe you can make anything delicious if you no how to cook it! So far no reservations!
My cooking tragedies
A preseasoned bean mix, with soy sauage which I bought at Whole Foods. We had one bowl and it went straight in the trash! And I NEVER throw away food.

Whole Wheat Pancake Mix
My 5 year old son who eats lots of pancakes at grandma's stopped mid bite and said "These pancakes are amazing!" and that I needed to make these ones all the time... I agree!

Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting
I made this recipe exact, and I have to say I'm not impressed. Too sour creamy, sweet, and very chocolaty. No offense, not bad, just not that good.

Healing Cabbage Soup
Very good soup. Use chicken broth, reg. stewed tomatoes and added a rounded scoop of Italian Seasoning. Nothing is wrong with this recipe. It was strangely exactly what I needed (I'm not sick) and I can see myself eating this soup in the summer too; maybe because though it's filling it's also a very light soup. Even my 3 year old ate it, I love ways to get veggies down him. It's being put in the recipe box for keeps right now!
