Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2000
I've been making this for several months now - it is GREAT!! Quick, easy and DEElicious.. I use bonless/skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts. I pound them a bit, use purchased Italian bread crumbs, fresh grated Romano cheese and lots of extra garlic.. Thank you Carol for posting!

Veal Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2001
I was inspired to look for a veal stew recipe when my local market had veal breast on sale. This was a delicious find! I added additional garlic and doubled the tomato sauce because we like a log of "gravy." I served with buttered noodles. My Husband loved it and it was so easy to make. This is a keeper - thanks for sharing!!

Dump Cake V

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2001
I'd forgotten how good a "dump cake" was!! I'd also forgotten exactly how to make one. This recipe is excellent and oh so easy. I took it for my bingo table and they all loved it. I served it with real whipped cream. One of the ladies said she dreaded eating the last bite because it'd be gone!! I have one in the oven right now, only I'm using blueberries instead of the cherries. Hope it will be as good. Thanks for sharing!!

Vegan Split Pea Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2002
I love this soup! I've now made it for the second time.. Basically, I stick to the recipe. The first time I added chopped ham and this time I put in some "fresh pork hocks." Of course, I add extra garlic to everything. My Husband likes thinner soup so I added extra water in the beginning and some chicken broth after I knew how thick it was. It makes such a hearty meal with a salad and bread. I'm sure it would be just as tasty without the meat. I'll definitely be making this often. Thanks for posting such a great recipe!!

Easy Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2002
This is fantastic!!! The quickest, easiest dessert I've ever made.. And, so delicious. I've already made it twice and just bought more crusts so I can make it again. I have an abudance of Mexican limes which are close to being key limes. I've already squeezed a bunch and frozen them in 1/2 cup containers so I can quickly make one whenever I want. I sent the recipe to my Sister and she's already made two, also. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe - it's perfect!!

Macaroon Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2002
These are great! Very easy to make - I did have to cook a little longer than called for and then slightly burned the edges. Next time I'll be more careful and take them out a bit before the center is completely set. They're definitely a keeper! Thanks for sharing

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2002
This is GREAT!! I made it exactly by the recipe. I did use only 3 potatoes because mine were so huge. Next time I'd dice the potatoes a bit smaller. I did add an extra 1/2 tsp salt. Definitely a keeper. Thanks for sharing.

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: May 6, 2002
This cake is deeelicious!! Definitely a keeper. I do think there is something wrong with the temp. After 1 hour at 275 it was still uncooked. I turned the oven up to 300 & cooked another 20 mins or so. Next time I think I'll try 325 and watch closely. I skipped the freezer and can't believe that would make it any more moist or delicious!! The frosting is yummy, but, I didn't use it all on the cake. I have enough left for a light frosting on another cake. Cindy, thanks for sharing your great recipe!!..

Upside Down Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2002
I just took this cake to an organization potluck - Wow, did I get the compliments, i.e., awesome, scrumptious, delicious, etc.. Of course, I got recipe requests which I was prepared for with extra copies I'd printed after taking a small taste. I brought fresh whipped cream as a topper. I baked this in a glass 9x13 - I mention this because I didn't hear the timer go off and got side tracked. It ended up baking for 1 hr 40 mins.. The pecans were a bit over brown and the contents were firm. But, it didn't seem to "damage" it at all. The only change I made to the recipe was that I added a 1/2 tsp ground ginger. It's going to be hard to top this for future meetings! Thanks Jacki for sharing this great recipe!!

Fig Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2002
This is delicious!! It is very moist and full of flavor. I think when the figs are gone I'll try this with another fruit, maybe apples. I was a bit concerned when I made the frosting, but, once on the cake and after setting awhile it was great.. Thanks for sharing this recipe, Liz!!

Cream of Asparagus Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2002
I've made this soup several times and it is wonderful! The only changes I made is using 3T of the boouillon powder instead of 4. Also, I add lots of chopped garlic when browing onions. I'll be anxiously awaiting the height of next years asparagus crop so I can make lots more of this great soup!! Thanks William for sharing!!

Persimmon Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2002
This bread is moist and delicious! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of the spices. I added 1/2 tsp nutmeg and a dash of cloves. Also, it was beautiful and brown after 50 mins of baking. I did use a dark, nonstick loaf pan. My oven temperature is usally quite accurate. It was the first time I've used persimmons in baking. My neighbor shared some from her garden. Now I'm anxious to get more so I can make more of this delicious bread. I read that you can freeze persimmon pulp so I'd like to do that and be able to make this even when they're not in season. Thank you v monte for this wonderful recipe!!

Glazed Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2003
This is an excellent meatloaf. I used one pound ground beef and one pound ground turkey. Next time I'll follow the recipe and use all beef. I think the texture was a bit soft with the turkey. The only other change I made was that I added a generous amount of finely chopped garlic which I'll continue to do. Also, I did double the amount of glaze. Thanks Delia for sharing your delicious recipe.

Texas Sheet Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2003
WOW, this cake is great!! It's so quick and easy to make and ooooohhhh so good. I've made it 3 times in the last week to take to various functions. There's never a scrap left over for me to bring home. I like the idea you can cut it into squares and lay it out on a platter - very simple. I followed the recipe exactly. The one thing I've had to do everytime is thin out the frosting with a tiny bit of milk. I found this made spreading very easy. Thanks Chantal for posting this super recipe.

Gramma Bertha's Banana Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2003
This cake was delicious.. Not too sweet and yet moist and tasty. I followed directions exactly. It did not rise far up my 10 inch bundt pan so next time I'll use one of my smaller, different design bundt pans. I frosted this using a half recipe of "Cream Cheese Frosting II" (Allrecipes) and added a half cup of chopped pecans to the frosting - a real treat!! Thanks for posting Lisa - this is a keeper!

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2003
This frosting is great! I halved the recipe and added a half cup chopped pecans. It generously frosted a bundt cake (Grandma Bertha's Banana Cake - Allrecipes). The cake is not too sweet and this made it really delicious. I'll keep this frosting recipe as I'm sure it'll work well on many different type cakes. Thanks for sharing JJ.
