Wow - this is tasty! Added a bit of fresh rosemary and thyme to add a bit more flavor. Served it with some diced squash mixed in for added texture. Yummy!

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
Delicious! I can't stop eating them! But, definitely use unsalted butter if adding the salt or vice versa.

Molasses Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
Delicious. I used coconut oil instead of shortening to make them a little healthier, but did the rest as directed. Definitely making again for the holidays! Maybe with some nuts and or chocolate to add another flavor/texture.

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2012
Instead of cooking the mushrooms first, I did it towards the end in the butter you're supposed to just stir in. That way it all blended together into warm, buttery and mushroomy goodness. I also added fresh rosemary to bring out the earthy mushroom taste. All my guests loved it and one husband requested I teach his wife how to make it.

Spicy Shrimp and Grits

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
The base recipe was delicious. I made a couple tweaks, including 3 cups chicken broth instead of 4, fresh tomatoes and jalapeƱos instead of the canned, and skipped the oven step.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2013
Good base of ingredients, but needs some extra kick. I skipped the basil and oregano, and used cayenne, cumin, chili powder, and paprika with some Valentina's very hot sauce. Plus, added a small can of tomato paste, stewed tomatoes, and diced tomatoes with chilis. Yum!

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
Made a double batch - Used 2 cups brown sugar and no white, ..definitely would have been too sweet with the extra 1/3 cup. Baked for 25 minutes in a 9x13 pan - came out really tasty.

Fresh Pea Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2013
Good base recipe, but I made too many tweaks to give it 5 stars. I used vegetable broth instead of water; added a shot of vermouth, a teaspoon of garlic powder, and some potato and carrot for texture.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
Good basic recipe, but I added cinnamon, allspice, ginger, and nutmeg to give it flavor. Next time, bananas and peanut butter. I prefer pancakes that are tasty enough to skip the syrup.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2014
WAY too much sugar in original recipe. I cut the frosting to 2 cups of sugar and the cake to 1.5 cups of brown sugar, and that's plenty of sweet for most people. Also, added more vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg like previous reviews suggested.

Beef Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
Fairly bland, definitely needs more seasoning. Used the crockpot idea and the meat was nice and tender. Used regular egg noodles (cooked separately) because I couldn't find frozen.
