Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
Easy and full of flavor. Like other members, I too sauted some chopped onions and green bell peppers and a clove of garlic prior to adding it to the rest of the ingredients. I added a tablespoon of low sodium Worcestershire sauce to the meat. I added some BBQ sauce to the sauce ingredients as well. Will definately make again.

Grilled Pork Chops with Balsamic Caramelized Pears

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
I will make this again for sure! I didn't have any pears and it was still excellent even without them. I will try it again sometime with the pears. I used two different kinds of onions for extra color and flavor.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Super easy to make & everyone loved it! I quartered a small onion & placed it under the 3lb pork shoulder. I cooked it on high for about 4 hrs, then drained the juice from the crock pot. I shredded the meat with my fingers, just seemed easier than with a fork. I returned the shreaded meat to the crockpot & mixed in two types of BBQ sauce, turned to low heat and left it there for about another hour before finishing it off in the oven for 30 mins. Plan to make it again but instead of using the oven for the last part, I plan to put it on the BBQ grill for 15 mins to get that true smoky flavor.

Krista's Sticky Honey Garlic Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
Great flavor but needed to add extra honey and hot sauce to give them more of a kick. Also had to turn oven up to 425 to get them to crisp, we don't like chewy wings, we like them crispy. Also, ended up putting them back on the cookie sheet to get some of the sauce away from them because they will not crisp when they are sitting in a bunch of sauce. Will likely make them again because we did like the flavor.

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
Do not try this recipe without self-rising flour. I only had all-purpose flour on hand so I tried it but the dough stays at the bottom and will not rise. It had wonderful flavor which is why I gave it 4 stars even though mine didn't turn out right. I will try making it again with self-rising flour :-)

Dark Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
Well I loved them, but my family was not crazy about them. I crumbled up the bacon and added some to the batter & used the remaining bacon on top of the frosting like sprinkles. I thought the combination of bacon & choc was heavenly. I used low-sodium bacon but if I make them again, I would use regular bacon because I think it lacked some of the "sweet & salty" combo due to the low-sodium bacon. These cupcakes are very contemporary, would be great for a party. They don't store well, the bacon gets soft & rubbery.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
Easy & delicious! You can get as creative as you want to with this recipe. I only used 1T of crisco per 1C chocolate. First I dipped the berries in Guittard milk choc & put them on a parchment lined cookie sheet. I put them in the fridge on the cookie sheet to cool for about an hour then I dipped them back into bittersweet chocolate. Then I sprinkled some with course sea salt, some I rolled in mini semi-sweet chips, some I rolled in red crystal sugar. Skys the limit to how you can decorate these berries. They were a hit with my loved ones. Will make these again & again!

Buffalo Chicken Sliders

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2012
Super easy and was a big hit! I used Hawaiian Sweet Rolls. I didn't add the carrots and celery since no one in my household really wanted that added. I did add blue cheese crumbles and a blend of shredded cheese and mixed it with the chicken prior to baking it and it turned out wonderful. None left over.
