I'm new to cooking. I've been experimenting with different recipes found on this site and am loving learning. It's exhilarating!
My favorite things to cook
boneless skinless chicken breasts and hamburgers
My favorite family cooking traditions
The only family traditions we have are baking sugar cookies and decorating them, but we haven't done that since grandma died. I hope someday to use her recipes (which I have) to learn to bake and decorate cookies. We have lots of recipes from her from cookies to banana bread and more. Maybe one day I'll learn to bake.
My cooking triumphs
I cook for my parents, my dog and myself. It's just the 4 of us. So far most of what i have cooked has gone over big with my parents. So they love it! I guess anything I cook will go over big with them LOL. My dad has no idea how to cook and knows nothing about how to shop for food, other than pre-packaged meals, etc. Mom doesn't cook because of her rheumatoid arthritis and bad back. So I'm the only one who cooks in this household.
My cooking tragedies
Baking a home-made pizza. That did not work out for me. The dough was not done at all. I guess I should have pre-baked the dough. That's the only thing I can think of to have done differently.
