Magpie's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
Tangy, peppery and a sweet. Tried it with a can of crushed tomato instead of ketchup as well, and it was still awesome, more smoky and less sweet tasting though.

Norwegian Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
Taste like a good version of the Swedish meatballs you get at Ikea. For best flavor use a good homemade broth, feel free to add some herbs to the broth if you are using a store bought one. Worked out great even though I used only beef for the meatballs and evaporated milk instead of cream for the sauce.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Really delicious. We modified the recipe later by adding twice the sugar, adding another egg and separately whipping the whites into meringue them mixing with the rest of the batter. My family loves to have this for brunch with pecans and caramelized bananas.

Chocolate Teddy Bear Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
The cookie is not too sweet, reminds me of the store bought teddy grahams in texture and taste. For those of you that like really chewy sweet cookies this is not a good recipe, but if you like things flavorful without being too sweet it is nice. Chilled to dough for 20 min before shaping so the teddies stayed better, also used brown sugar instead of white. These were very fun to make in many different shapes and characters.More fun to make and look at than eat.

Lavash Cracker Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
Taste great, but a bit difficult to roll out. Second time I made it I added a tbsp vegetable oil to the dough and used my pasta machine to roll the dough very thin. Put parchment paper under the baking pan to insure no sticking.

Lemon Curd

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
The texture was light and the taste very lemony. Note: I did cream the sugar and butter then add all the rest of the ingredients directly into a pot instead of using a double boiler, and still it turned out great.

Yeast Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
These tasted a little yeasty to me, and sometimes getting them to rise properly takes longer. If I have time I'll start with 1tsp of regular yeast and twice the sugar, then put the batter in the fridge over night. They always rise enough and the flavor is less yeasty that way. Still a great recipe though!
