Banana Bread Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2002
These cookies are wonderful! Just alittle note: after you make up the batter, chill it for an hour or so. They come out like little cakes. I didn't use the frosting on them.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2002
My family just loves these pancakes! I always put alittle more milk in to thin the batter some. The only down side to these wonderful pancakes-- I can never seem to cook them fast enough for my boys! You can successfully freeze unused buttermilk in the freezer. (milk too) Which is great, that way I always have buttermilk on hand.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2002
These brownies are just great! I always double the amounts and bake alittle longer. I don't think it needs any frosting on them at all. However, having 4 boys and a husband, I can never seem to keep the brownies in the pan until they're cooled off enough to even attempt to frost them. The little buggers "steal" pieces of it when ever my back is turned. :)

Gluten-Free Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2004
I made cupcakes for my sons and they were a big hit! Thanks Amy! It's so hard to find G/F recipes that don't taste like bland rubber.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
This is the best 'nana bread ever. However, if some folks think that their bread isn't sweet enough, your bananas may not be ripe enough. Tip: wait until the suckers turn BLACK. I mean to the shade where you would think to yourself "Ewww, I wouldn't eat that if you paid me." I also add about a teaspoon of vanilla to the recipe and sometimes I add just a little more bananas then what is called for. My guys eat this bread hot! They'll suffer second degree burns just to be the first one at it. Enjoy!!

Empanadas

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
Tasted like the hungarian cookies my grandmother used to make for me while I was growing up. These are not overly sweet. The dough doesn't over power the jam. Try different jams, I used raspberry and OMG they came out awsome. The whole batch was gone. I also used apricot jam. Try applebutter, bet you they'd be awsome too. (Jellies do not work in these.)

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2002
My family and I liked this recipe very much. I did change some things. I added 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, some frozen pea, frozen corn and I peeled and cubed 2 potatoes up and added it to the soup. I also used chicken thighs with the bone in. When the chicken was done cooking, I just removed the bone and skin and tore the meat up into bite size pieces.

I'm sorry but this recipe was really awful. The "cream suace" looked like watered down milk and it tasted bad. ;(

Clark Gable Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2002
This recipe needs to REDUCE the amount of baking powder. Try using just 2 teaspoons of it instead. Otherwise, it's wonderful!

This wasn't to my taste, no matter how you "doctor" it up, it's still isn't. Sorry, I"m not trying to be mean, it's just my opinion.

Cream Cheese Mints

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2005
I cannot rate this recipe as of yet(that explains the one star), I didn't try it. But, I've been making these mints for years. Tips: try different flavored extracts. Lemon is a good one. Vanilla is kinda bland. After mixing all ingredients (except extracts) split some up and knead in any flavor extract. See which one tickles your fancy. If mix is sticky, just add more P.sugar or let it sit in the frig for a bit.
