Banana Streusel Muffins

So delicious and quick to make. I especially like how they puff up so nice and big. Crowd pleaser!

Chicken in a Pot

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
Seriously, I don't get it. This wasn't flavorful and the chicken came out kind of dry. I doubled the sauce, added extra garlic and Italian seasoning and fresh basil-- still bland!

Gary's Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2002
This is a great recipe except for the butter component. There is simply TOO much. After a lot of toying with it, they tasted best when each mushroom was brushed lightly with butter, as opposed to pouring it on. In addition, I think you could easily skip the canned crab meat, as it is expensive and overwhelmed in the recipe. Also, just one batch of the stuffing in this recipe generously filled up 65 mushrooms.... and fed a whole party!

Champagne Punch III

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2002
Classic party punch recipe. DEFINETLY consider doubling the recipe, this stuff goes down really easily. I stretched the second batch further by using an extra can of cranberry concentrate and an extra bottle of champaign. I used a white riesling wine to offset the sour flavors of the citrus juices and it worked great. I wouldn't waste money on expensive alcohol; the cheap stuff doesn't taste nasty when mixed with the juice concentrate. I would serve this again without a doubt.

Italian Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2002
This recipe rocks! It was awesome with a thick split pea soup- really makes soup special- not a lot of work for the raves, but does require advanced planning. A TIP: For the second raise period, split up into individual bowls on a baking tray lined with non-stick baking paper. DO NOT reknead the bowls- avoid handling them directly before baking so they will stay raised. Delish! Thanks Kerri!

Carrot Rice

Took a lot of prep work, but such a festive side dish for Asian main dishes (Worked great with Asian Tilapia!) Be careful to mince ginger completely.

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2002
My all time favorite brownie recipe. I used to have a similar one from Hershey's but lost it a while back. Be very careful not to overbake- best indicator of doneness is when brownies SLIGHTLY start to pull away from side of pan. Adding choc. chips is the only way to go! Thanks Biz!

Barbequed Thai Style Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2002
Mixed reviews in our house- I thought this was much to sweet and didn't have the balance of sweet and spicy I so enjoy with Thai food. I recommend making it hotter or adding garlic or something.

Quick and Easy Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2002
Was easy to assemble but overall, not a stand out recipe. Try adding a little garlic or onion powder to give the bread a less baking soda/powdery taste.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2002
Great pizza crust (good with exquisite pizza sauce on this site)! It took a long time to bake up puffy- next time I will bake it sans toppings for about 10 minutes. Also, I added garlic salt (cut back on regular salt) to taste.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2002
This sauce was very flavorful, but the recipe did not make enough for a whole pizza. I stretched the recipe by adding a can of plain diced tomatoes, which worked nicely- but I will double it next time!
