Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2010
Absolutely love this exactly as is. I am the kind of person that wings things and tried to wing this without following the recipe....and no one really loved it. So the next time I followed the recipe to the T and it was GONE....now I have people begging me to bring this :) The cinnamon chips are awesome, I butter each one, stack them up, then cut with a pizza cutter, lay on the baking sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and it couldn't be easier :)

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Phenomenal!! You know how most birthday cakes sorta get ignored? They are *ok* but not a treat? Not this one! This is one of the few times the cake went faster than the ice cream at my daughter's birthday party. She chose this cake, with a chocolate ganache and sliced strawberries. It was wonderful that way, but to be honest, it was as good or better completely plain!

Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Though I've made many pies in my life, I had never made a pecan pie until this Thanksgiving. This was DELICIOUS! I wouldn't change a thing....though I did use half chopped pecans and half whole. All in all it was absolutely perfect :)

Banana Cake V

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
Excellent cake! It was very moist, smelled and tasted fabulous, especially with a thick layer of cream cheese frosting! Don't forget to add the vanilla, as the written directions skip that part even though it is listed in the ingredient list.

Chocolate Toffee Crunchies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. It is THAT delicious and easy!!! One of my children even declared it her absolute favorite food ever after tasting it! The favorite out of at least 20 different cookies at a cookie swap and interestingly enough, this one was the easiest and quickest to make!

Kolachky

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
very tasty pastry. My mother is Slovak and has always called these cookies "rushky" (not sure on teh spelling) and she rolls hers up but the pastry is the same. I tried some with a berry preserves filling and they were the favorite, though the filling needs to be cut down or it seeps out too easily. Also, 3" X 3" size is HUGE, more like a danish or pastry than a cookie, so if I do it again, I will cut that size way down as well as cut down on the quantity of filling I use. Overall delicious though!

Cherry Snowballs

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
Very nice cookies, don't be tempted to fiddle too much with it, though I did mince the cherries and add it to the dough and made the glaze with the cherry juice and powdered sugar. I then tried some drizzled with chocolate, some with minced pecans and some with coconut and the coconut is the best, just as the recipe says :)

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
I LOVE this bread!! There are few recipes that are simpler and easier that result in such a tasty treat :) Made it for Thanksgiving and people were tearing into it with tons of butter before dinner and eating it as an appetizer! I always come back to this bread over the years :)

Corn Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
This was pretty good. My kids loved it. I doubled the recipe and it made a very large pan. The next day I had made BBQd chicken legs in the crockpot with sweet baby ray's sauce. I took the casserole, sliced it into meatloaf shaped pieces, topped it with some of the BBQ sauce from the chicken and sprinkled with some gorgonzola cheese and reheated it and THAT was fabulous!!

Yellow Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
I was hoping to really love this, as I do love yellow squash and had quite a bit in my garden. Unfortunately, this was just "ok" for us. A little bland maybe?

Easy Pineapple Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
My all-time favorite cake :) I have to have it every year on my birthday and in fact my husband (NOT a baker!) has even earned how to make it for me. I suppose the reason why some do not like it is because it is not your typical cake. It's VERY moist and the bits of pineapple in it make it a different texture to most cakes. That's just why it's my favorite though!

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
Truly delicious and very well-received at a party I had at my home. I used a pre-roasted chicken from the grocery store, which made things very easy. Chopped and mixed up the filling ahead of time and then baking it at party time was no problem at all! Wonderful!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2006
Lovely sugar cookie recipe! Very easy to roll out and made very tasty cookies that were not dry or crumbly at all. I chilled overnight and kept most of the dough in the fridge as I rolled out 8 or 10 at a time and that worked great.

Southwestern Grilled Chicken with Lime Butter

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
Delicious! I served it as close to the recipe as possible and everyone loved it :) I used chicken thighs on the bone and removed the skin, added the marinade/spice mix an hour or so before grilling, so it had time to marinade. Only had a jalapeno, no chiles available, and I just removed the seeds and membrane so it wasn't hot at all. VERY well worth trying and I will make this again :)

Rainbow Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2003
I had a very difficult time getting the almond paste to cream into the rest of the dough. Overall, I would not say it was easy to make, and yet they did not fly off the tray at the baby shower where I brought these. I ended up putting quite a few in the freezer because I had so many leftover. I did like the taste though, but do not think I would make this again unfortunately.

Annemarie's Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2003
Absolutely love this recipe and recommend it all the time. I've been making this for a couple of years now, after having found it here quite some time ago. I'm just now getting around to giving it a rave review. This is the recipe that made me a fan of lemon bars. Most others pale in comparison in my opinion! After reading all the other reviews, I would also add that you MUST use fresh squeezed lemon juice. Using the bottled lemon juice is not worth the effort and not lemony at all. Also, be sure to not overbake the crust or it will be overly crumbly and dry. Otherwise this recipe is perfect! I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews??

Beer Lime Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2003
My family and I all thought this was very tasty. It is a mild flavor, but we grilled boneless skinless chicken breasts using this method (and I even didn't have the cilantro) and adding garlic and thought it was fine. NOt sure why there are some negative reviews? I'll be keeping it in my recipe box :)
