Nana's Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2006
This was perfect on this chilly fall day! Found I didn't need to dot the top with extra butter, perfect without it. Also added a dash of nutmeg.

Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2006
Absolutely delicious! Added half an onion to the cavity with the garlic, but otherwise followed ingredients exactly. I followed some other reviewers advice and cooked it in my slow cooker all day...then put it into a 400 degree oven for about a half hour to brown and crisp it up. Very tasty, very moist, meat just fell off the bone. Will be making this ALOT. Thank you!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2006
Yummy cookies! And they look like the perfect chocolate chip cookie too! Only thing I would change is add a pinch of salt. I halved the recipe to make a "normal" sized batch. This will be my staple chocolate chip cookie recipe, far better than Tollhouse recipe. Udate: My hubby thought these were almost too sweet (silly man). But I used dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet...even better. Have tried them with chocolate pudding mix too...so many variations! My Holy Grail chocolate chip cookie recipe!

Very tasty...and healthy too! I added some olives and some mozzarella cheese, also made my own whole wheat pizza crust (from this site). Thank you!

Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

Oh my! Absolutely delicious! And, as another reviewer stated, "pretty as a picture". I use this recipe for all my poultry now...roast chicken and turkey. Rave reviews! Thank you!

Banana-Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2006
Hearty muffin and relatively low fat! Bonus that it is also yummy! I used 6 oz lemon yogurt, as thats what I had in the house and a tad more orange zest, had a very nice citricy flavor without being overwhelmingly so.

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
The best chocolate cake recipe ever! As stated, the batter is pretty runny, but this bakes into the most moist cake! I am always being asked to bring "that chocolate cake" to get-togethers.

Sweet 'n' Hot Glazed Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
Loved this salmon recipe! I didn't have any apricot nector or dried apricots in the house (and didn't feel like running to the store again), but I did have chunky apricot preserves...I used about a cup of the preserves and a cup of water and omitted the honey (because of the sugar in the preserves)...it worked! It was delishhhh! Definite keeper! Thank you!

Pumpkin Cookies III

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2005
Very tasty...great texture! I added a 1/2 tsp of nutmeg and the whole (small) can of pumpkin (15oz?), just couldn't throw out the rest after adding the 1 cup! Didn't need the frosting! Thanks Terry1

Ultimate Spicy Spud Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
Yummy! I substituted ham for sausage and added some chopped carrot, also mashed about a 1/4 of the potatoes and added them back to the soup with a little Wondra flour to thicken it just a tad. Didn't skimp a bit on the cayenne pepper, in fact may have added a bit more than the recipe indicated and it was perfect! Definitly recommend for these chilly autumn days! Thank you Pam!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
This is incredible pizza sauce! Only change I made to this recipe is reduced honey to 1T as we don't like it too sweet and other reviewers suggested this. Don't skip the anchovy paste...I was tempted to, but it definitly adds flavor and not a distinct "fishy" flavor like I expected. I make this sauce everytime we have home-made pizza (and try the Amazing Whole Wheat pizza crust, as another reviewer suggested....wonderful together!)

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
Delicious! Unlike some of the comments, my sauce thickened right up! I used homemade raspberry jam (with seeds) and apple cider vinegar. Also cooked handful of fresh raspberries in the sauce. My husband and I loved this recipe...the chops were seasoned perfectly (didn't change a thing from the recipe); the flavors compliment each other perfeclty. Definitly recommend you try this one!

Zucchini Tomato Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
I added some garlic and red pepper flake, I think it would have been bland without adding something. Next time I think I will add some cheddar cheese... nice side dish though.

Health Nut Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2005
Yummmmy! I made cookie bars instead of cookies. Very moist! I cut the butter in half and used about 3/4 c applesauce. I added raisins and omitted the sunflower seeds (only cause I didn't have any in the house). I used flax seed meal instead of the seeds and used about 3 T. My husband, who is use to me baking all sorts of goodies on the weekends, lovessss these (he recently changed his diet due to high cholesterol, so I have been looking for a tasty baked good that is lower in fat). Definitly a keeper...thank you!

Dog Biscuits I

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2005
My pup, Kismet, loved 'em!! I didn't use cookie cutters, I rolled them into balls and flattened them with a fork (like a peanut butter cookie). I also added a bit of shredded carrot. Very easy to make...Kismet really enjoyed the "batter" also, but who doesn't enjoy munching on the "cookie" dough? Thanks for the recipe!

Chocolate Almond Marble Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2002
I thought it had too much almond flavor, very overwhelming of the other flavors. I followed the recipe to a "T", and it still cracked. It is very rich! I would definitly recommend it, but go easy on the almond extract!
