About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake especially cookies but I will eat most of them myself so I try to not make them too often.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father made biscuits from scratch every Sunday morning. They are the best... huge, buttery and layered. He still makes them when I go home to visit. My children love to 'help' him.
My cooking triumphs
Knowing how to cook at all. My mother did not cook for us growing up so I did not learn in my childhood kitchen. After college I was on my own not knowing how to shop or cook for myself. I taught myself to cook by trying recipes that I got from this sight. I have over 400 saved recipes in my files.

Carrot Souffle
Really fun to make...does need the powdered sugar though to make it sweet enough to eat. I don't have trouble getting my children to eat carrots so I think I will stick with raw and not go to the trouble to get carrots into their diet
