Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: May 20, 2012
I follow the advice of another reviewer and switched the honey for sugar and on my second rise, the breads only rose halfway to the bread pans. Will try the recipe as is and update my review in consequence.

Super Easy Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
I added 1 3/4 cups ( 8 ounces= 1 cup) marinated artichoke heart instead of canned artichoke hearts. I didn't add the sun-dried tomato. I tried sun-dried tomatoes in different recipe and never got used to it; it has an odd taste to me. Otherwise, I follow the recipe to the letter and I baked it around 25-30 minutes. The cheese didn't melt properly so I put it back for another 10 minutes, took it out and decided to try it out anyway. It was so salty! Didn't like it at all!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
So much better than my regular white bread recipe! I did tweak it a bit: I used fresh herbs from my garden; 3 T. of sweet basil and 1 1/2 T. of rosemary chopped up finely. I added more water as well, about 1 1/4 cup and readjusted the flour in consequence to 3 cups and the oil to 4 T. Funny of it does not say on the recipe that it needs to be warm water 110 degrees F , beware novice bakers! Otherwise, the bread is nice and chewy and the crust is crispy. Best bread I have tried so far!

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
The mix of relish and mustard with the tuna had an odd taste. I added more curry powder as well between 1/2 teaspoon and 3/4 teaspoon. I reduce the dill to 1/2 a teaspoon and added more garlic powder. I saute some onion as I did not have dried onion flakes on hand.I did this recipe without the relish with my previous modification and it was way better.

Coconut Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
I modified the muffins recipe as other reviewers suggested and even then it wasn't modified enough to have a good coconut taste. I added 1 1/ cup of soy milk and 3/4 cup of sweetened shredded coconut. The milk proportion in the batter was perfect this way but not the ratio of coconut. Next time, I will add either 1 1/4 cup or 1 1/2 cup of shredded coconut.

Chocolate Chip Marshmallow Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
I did the recipe as is and the flavor was totally overpowered by the sugar content before the bars were totally cooled down! Once cooled down, it was still a tad too sweet for my liking... Next time that I am doing this recipe, I will cut the sugar by a third. It needed more vanilla as well, maybe 1/2 teaspoon more.Otherwise, the house was smelling heavenly and it looked wonderfull.
