I grew up cooking and love doing it. I make everything from scratch: pasta, breads, pastries, stocks, etc. I'm working on a cookbook but it may just end up being for my family as it keeps growing and growing!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake but it's too hard on the waistline so I've moved to grilling more. Anything can be grilled and with all of the recipes and experiments that I create I stay busy with that. It's pretty handy during the hot summer to keep the house cool too! Anything you can bake you can grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have to say Thanksgiving is my favorite as my husband and twin girls are in the kitchen together and we're all busy together.
My cooking triumphs
I'd have to say my bottled salsa recipe. Everyone who tries it wants me to sell it (where's the fun in that?). I also make a wonderful cedar planked salmon and three pepper beef tenderloin. I've also started teaching high school & college kids I know how to make their favorite dishes...so many people don't know how to cook anymore and don't teach their children.
My cooking tragedies
I don't have one that stands out. But I do enough experimenting that every once in a while I make something that we all laugh at. I did set my grill on fire last year using too much butter on halibut!
