Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
These are good. I only used a pinch of cayenne. (personal preference). Not particularly flakey, but I might of cooked them a bit too long. Will make them again, for sure.

Old Time Soft Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
At first taste, they were like sweet bisquits. But after a few bites, I decided that I had to have another....and another. I did sprinkle some "sugar in the raw" on them rather than white sugar. Would I make them again though? Probably not, there are other cookies that I covet more.

This is an excellent recipe. I made it for my family last Christmas and everyone loved it. Will make it next week for a special dinner party I am having. Thank you!

Minted Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
Average results. Also, the prep time is longer than suggested. The amount of oil is too much and splatters when placing (however carefully) each meatball in the pan. Will not make it again.

Danish Meatballs with Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2006
The meatballs were bland, they definitely need the sauce. I did like the idea of baking them, though, instead of the usual sauteing.

Sour Cream Chicken Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2006
I made my own pie crust (I am not fond of the frozen ones). To make the roux I added a 1/2 Tbls. of butter because after sauteing the onion & pepper in the oil, there wasn't enough oil for a good roux. I think also that one could add another 1/2 cup (max.) of liquid as the amount given was not quite enough. Am not sure if the 9-inch crusts you buy are the exact same size as a homemade one. I think the pre-made are a bit smaller so this recipe would be fine for the frozen one. The taste and texture of the end result is EXCELLENT.

Seafood Timbales with Tarragon Beurre Blanc

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2004
Excellent, easy and delicate texture! Also an impressive dish for company. The sauce though, only makes enough for 3 1/2 to 4 (not 8!) servings in our family.....we LOVE sauces and this one is perfect for the Timbale.

Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2004
Excellent! The only thing I did differently was to saute the onion in 1 tablespoon of butter, until soft. My mom said it was delicious as well!

Harvard Beets

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2003
This was excellent! My father asked for more the moment he tried it and he isn't a veggie kind of guy. I did heed the other reviewers re: boiling before simmering. It took a little longer than recommended timeto have the consistency I wanted, but delicious and easy anyway.

Benne Wafers

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2001
It was easy. My only problem was that they were a little tough to get off the cookie sheet, even with greasing the pan. I did serve them to 3 other adults and they LOVED them. I did not like the flavor quite as much.

Broccoli Bites

Reviewed: May 3, 2001
Easy to put together except that when I spooned the mix into the hot oil to fry it did not hold together. It was to liquid. What a mess! Plus the 1/2 cup of oil was not enough to fry in. It stuck to the bottom and didn't fry on top. Also, one could not taste the cheese even w/o the sauce.

Almond-Crusted Halibut Crystal Symphony

Excellent, esp. the sauce. I used Grey sole instead of Halibut. It was so tender. Loved it.
