Horseradish Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
Tasty. I was looking for a recipe like my sister has which has layers. I tried to layer, and it tasted good, but the texture was off.

Monte Cristo Sandwich - the Real One

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
I make a special brunch every Sunday for my husband. I made these for the first time. My husband loved them. I didn't care for them at all. Too much batter and grease for my taste. However, I might try the suggestion of cooking them like a cheese sandwich to avoid all the grease next time. So, a big hit as far as my husband was concerned and a big miss from my perspective.

Deserves ten stars! This is the best I've ever tasted! I only leave in oven for 30 min.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2012
These were delicious! I was planning to make them for Easter Brunch and then read a couple of recent unfavorable reviews. Finally decided to make them anyway since I had already shopped for the ingredients. I'm sure glad I did. They were wonderful. I did cut the filling in half, as suggested by other reviewers. There was plenty. Will make again!

I thought these were pretty good. Did have LOTS of trouble tying the knots. But a tasty addition to a meal.

Delicious! I used chicken stock in place of the granules and water. Also doubled the ham. Very tasty!

Tamale Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2011
Surpisingly tasty. Took other's advice to omit the eggs. Also, only cooked in the oven for about 45 minutes. Will make again, but take the suggestion to put a layer of cornmeal on top. Served with sourcream.

Egg Foo Yung with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
Tasty, but wish the egg mix would puff up thicker like at our favorite Chinese restaurant. How do they do that?

Mom's Dill Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2011
I was disappointed. I love all the ingredients, but mixed together seemed heavy and lacked flavor. Will not make again.

Crispy Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Very crispy. I double dipped in buttermilk and flour mix, back to the buttermilk and flour mix. Loved the crispiness but it needed more spices, I think. I will be using this recipe again but add more spices.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
Oh my! I can't wait to make these again. And to make them with peaches. And rhubarb. I will reduce the sugar to one cup next time. I inadvertently bought biscuit dough instead of crescent rolls, but they turned out great anyway. I ate them plain and my husband enjoyed them with vanilla ice cream. A definite keeper!

Chocolate Billionaires

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
Not what I was looking for, but they are tasty. Ended up being quite a bit of work because I could not get them off the greased non stick waxed paper! Looked online and there was a suggestion to put a cookie sheet in the oven at 175, when heated, set the waxed paper with the billionaires on top of the heated cookie sheet. That softened enough to remove them.

Berry-Filled Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
Amazing and simple! I filled with apricot preserves using a hole in the corner of a baggie. Worked great when I pre-drilled a hole with the handle end of a crab fork before squirting. Also, decided to roll in glaze (1/3 cup powdered sugar with 1 tablespoon milk) for one can of ten doughnuts. Want to try with other jellies! My husband loved them and kept thanking me for the special breakfast.
