Double Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2014
As another reviewer said, this makes stunning pudding. But its not a pie filling. I was going to ignore the slightly loose texture, but even my fiance (who loves the taste of the pie filling) commented on it being just a bit to loose. I love love love the taste of the filling (I know some have mentioned it being to sweet, but I didn't find that to be the case, personal preference for sure)so I wont be changing anything to do with flavor. I will try adding a bit more cornstarch to see if that fixes the firmness issue and will report back if it does!

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2014
Absolutely fantastic recipe. I would give it a 5 star for the ingredients and proportions but a 1 star for directions. Changes I made: added about 1 tsp of vanilla and 2 tsp of sugar to make it more of a breakfast crepe. For combining I followed another reviewers recommendations and combined the wet ingredients (minus the melted butter)and whisked until combined Then add the flour (which I spooned into the measuring cup so as not to make the batter to thick) and salt and whisk until no longer lumpy Finally add the melted butter and combine. This results in a lump free batter that is the perfect consistency for crepes!

Super Duper Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2013
holy on a cracker these cookies are delicious! I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out perfectly. Next time I will leave them in for a little less time(oven runs hot) Will definitely be making these again and again! Tip- I noticed some reviewers saying they would leave the cookies on the baking sheet to cool. When my husband was helping me take them off the sheet we found the longer they stayed on the stickier they got (that was after heavily greasing them with cooking spray)so I would recommend getting them off the moment they come out the oven then letting them cool on a cooling rack.

Sara's Iced Coffee

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2013
Really great recipe. Due to dietary issues I made a few changes. Instead of cream I used soy milk, less sugar, and more vanilla (the idea being the vanilla would add sweetness without added calories) the result- deliciousness! Going to be making this again and again!

Perfect Breakfast

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
Really enjoyed this. I cooked the eggs overeasy leaving the yokes runny. Also I took another reviewers suggestion and added bacon which I heartily recommend. All in all a healthy and filling breakfast.

Avocado Feta Salsa

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
hands down the best dip I've ever had. My boyfriend was CONVINCED he didn't like avocado, and he's begged me to make this for him almost every day. Made this for my family for a trip home, everyone raved about it and my mother licked the bowl clean. Clearly a great success.

Eggs Benedict

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2012
This was my first time making eggs benedict and it certainly wasn`t has hard as I expected. Next time I am going to make a few changes: first make sure to let the sauce sit. The first time I tasted it I was quite concerned with how lemony it was, however after a couple of minutes it wasn`t nearly so overwhelming. second the lemon in the recipe definately needs to be cut back. I would say about 2 1/2 to 3 tablespoons is more than enough. (The exact amount would depend on personal preference. My boyfriend and I both enjoy lemon, so we would only reduce it a little.) Other than that this recipe has cured my fear of making this recipe, and it will no longer be confined to christmas day meals.

Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2012
I did the orange version of this recipe. It was fantastic! I couldn't leave my boyfriend alone with the bowl, every time I left it he had a handful in his mouth. The orange flavour was perfect. The only issue I had was the quantity. It made probably double or triple the amount that it said it would. So make sure you halve it. Other than that its phenomenal and I will definitely be coming back to this recipe anytime I make cupcakes.

Coffee Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
This recipe was simple and delicious. I paid attention to some of the other comments and made a few minor adjustments. I simply doubled the cocoa and coffee to make sure the flavor wasn't overpowered by the sweetness. The only issue i've run into is getting the frosting onto the cake before someone eats it all.

Crazy Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
I used to make this exact recipe as a child and it was always so much fun! I remember making up excuses to convince my parents to let me make another! So excited to find the recipe again after so many years. I intend to make it for my vegan friend sometime very soon!

Ultra Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
delicious! my boyfriend and I are both very picky when it comes to mashed potatoes, ever since I was a little girl I hated lumps with a passion, but as I don't have a mixer in my new apartment yet I was hesitant to make mashed potatoes. This recipe was a godsend, I plan on using it at least once a week!

Baked Scallops

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
I didn't have many of the seasonings called for in the recipe so i just used powdered garlic and curry powder. WOW it was delicious! I made it for my boyfriend when he got home from work and he all but licked the plate. the only thing i would recommend is drying the scallops really well then rolling them in the breadcrumbs, place them in the butter than sprinkle the rest of the dressing on top.
