Blue Cheese, Sweet Pecan, and Cranberry Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2014
We loved this. To the people who didn't like it, most didn't follow the recipe and used regular pecans as opposed to candied. Don't give a recipe a bad rating if you don't follow it as written.

Yellow Squash Casserole

Like someone else said, too many eggs. It was like a squash quiche.

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
Followed directions exactly. Like others I couldn't get it to mix smoothly. I pressed it in a pan and refrigerated. The next day I cut it in to pieces and stored in a Tupperware container. It was edible but not creamy at all. Very dry and crumbly. Will not try this again.

Beginner Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2012
Very good recipe. When I first mixed the dumplings the mixture was very thin, like cake batter so I threw it out. I mixed up a second batch of batter and very gently stirred and it turned out more like dough. I guess I was just beating it too hard the first time. Make the dumplings small to make sure they are cooked through. I cooked mine 20 minutes with the lid on and 20 minutes with it off and it turned out perfect.

Coconut Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
Very disapointing. This cake was extremely dry and crumbly. I followed the directions exactly and baked it for the stated amount of time. I believe that the problem may be that it needs another stick of butter. My "go to" cream cheese pound cake calls for the same amount of all ingredients except for butter. I may try it again and add a stick of butter.

Chewy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: May 20, 2011
Mine turned out perfectly! The only changes made were to add about 1/4 cup of flour, use a full teaspoon of vanilla and 2 cups of loosely packed sweetened coconut. Very, very good cookies.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
We thought this was great. I doubled the sauce recipe and used 1 can of cream of mushroom and 1 can of cream of onion. I also added a can of sliced mushrooms and served it over noodles. Great comfort food. The next time I make this I will triple the sauce.

New Orleans Barbequed Shrimp

This was just okay. My husband said that it just tasted like shrimp in italian dressing. Next time I will try a different bbq shrimp recipe.

Blue Cheese and Pear Tartlets

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
I love the combo of pear and blue cheese so I was excited to try this recipe. I used a ripe Bosc pear so it was sweet enough not to be overpowered by the blue cheese. The finished product was just kind of...bland. I followed the recipe exactly so maybe it could be improved upon. Not sure I will try again.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2007
This pie turned out fabulous! I have made it twice. The first time it seemed like it took forever to cook, the second time I cheated and turned the burner up a little higher but just stirred a lot to make it sure it didn't stick. Everyone loved this pie.

Bacon Wrapped Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: May 3, 2007
Awesome recipe. I used a BBQ rub that was a little too salty so next time I will use a sweet BBQ sauce instead of the rub. Even though they were salty they were still delicious. I took others advice and put them under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp up the bacon. I also turned them over during this process.

Quick Creamy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
When I first made this recipe, I wasn't too impressed. I'm giving this 4 stars because the next day it was great. If you are serving it to guests I recommend making it a day ahead of time.

Taco Soup V

I thought this was great. I've made it before without the ranch dressing mix but the ranch really adds flavor to it. Serve it with corn chips and sour cream.

Fabulous! Everyone at my Halloween party wanted the recipe. I followed others advice and used canned chopped tomatoes instead of tomato juice. Thanks George!!!!

Delilah's Frosted Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
I usually stay away from cookies that you have to roll out because I never have much luck. I made these cookies with my 3 year old and although the dough became soft very quickly they still turned out great. You just have to work fast and keep the dough that you are not using in the fridge.

Very tasty. I took this to our dinner club and everyone raved about it. I even got the comment, "I don't usually like blue cheese but this is great".

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2004
I'm sorry to give this recipe such a low rating but I honestly think that is what it deserved. I followed other reviewers suggestions and added jarred pasta sauce along with italian seasoning and garlic salt. I even used diced tomatoes that were flavored with garlic and oregano and we still thought it was incredibly bland. I will probably make this recipe again and just completely skip the diced tomatoes using a spicy jarred spaghetti sauce instead. I will also use sharp cheddar instead of mild. The consistency was good it just totally lacked flavor.

Quick and Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2004
We thought that this was a very good cobbler. I added about a teaspoon of almond extract to the batter and it was great. I even goofed by buying peaches in juice instead of syrup. I added a little sugar to the juice to make my own syrup and the cobbler turned out great.
