About this Cook
My passion for cooking arrived out of necessity. Unlike most cooks, I did not grow up cooking. I started cooking because I had graduated college, was married, and learning how to cook was a better option than letting my husband make his one-skillet "man meals." But I quickly discovered just how exciting the kitchen can be. I love the discovery and creativity of trying something new, buying new ingredients, and watching science experiments come to yummy fruition. I still love to try and create new things. My favorite meals are made from the recipes I've created or modified myself.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new things. But as a couple on a budget my husband and I often end up eating chicken or vegetarian.

Stuffed Turkey Legs
It said the meat would fall off the bone so I waited. And I waited. And I waited until the turkey was completely over cooked. It didn't taste very flaverful to me, just overcooked.

Juicy Roasted Chicken
I had never baked a whole chicken before and my husband said it was some of the best chicken he had ever tasted. I used this recipe and added a few extra spices and it was so yummy. Rosemary and thyme are delicious on this. It's so very yummy!

Italian Fig Cookies I
I took note from the other commenters and put in a bit more of some ingredients and a little less of others. The recipe turned out well. I took the cookies to a friends house where her husband demolished the cookies.
