I'm a professional woman, who enjoys sharing recipes with others. I have been cooking for over 2 decades and I typically have mastered the southern style of cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking meatloaf, roasts, stews and baked chicken recipes. I enjoy making casseroles, and soups. I make an extraordinary homemade vegetable soup, which is quite easy to make.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy the Thanksgiving baked turkey tradition, and we always have green bean casserole, cornbread stuffing and sweetpotatoe casserole.
My cooking triumphs
I think my roasts are extraordinary, as my country style mushroom steak is also. I always tell my friends that I didn't learn how to cook in 1 year, I actually joined a mail-order recipe publishing company that mailed me recipes for about 3 years, I would master at least 1 per month. It took me over 5 years to get a "good skill level" because there are a great many variables to cooking, like the meat, the ingredients, and cleanliness.
My cooking tragedies
When I was in grade school home economics, our class project was to bake homemade chocolate chip cookies. We were split up into group of 4 kids each, and at the end, we could eat our cookies, we because I "messed up" our recipe, by adding a tablespoon of salt instead of a tsp, we ended up not being able to eat our cookies, and I was embarressed because all the kids taunted me. Another occasion, I accidently forgot that the eggs were boiling on the stove, and I heard an explosion in the kitchen, well I ran into the kitchen and saw one egg had exploded out of the pan (now dried and burning) onto the floor, I didn't know eggs would do that!
