I spend part of my time in Bali, part of my time in Panama and I visit South Dakota every year. I grew up in Howard, SD, a small town and lived in Southern California for 18 years. Things got too hectic and it was time to change my life so I'm trying to live my dream. I love the international lifestyle - not only is it very humbling but it certainly is a "wakeup call"! We americans really do not understand how most of the world lives. Well, enough preaching!
My favorite things to cook
Wow, my favorite things to cook - salads (does one really "cook" salads??!!), soups, any thai food, asian food, latin food, most anything. I'm not much of a baker but I do hold my own!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I really have none.
My cooking triumphs
Creme Brule, tiramisu, when a beef roast turns out very tender, when my spaghetti sauce turns out perfectly, lasagna and larb, a thai dish using ground chicken breast.
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at tiramisu - it went straight to the disposal! I once put too much flour into pan drippings while making gravy and ended up with a gravy ball!
