My favorite things to cook
i love to cook things that involve chicken. i also love making my own salads topped off with fish or chicken. i love baking as well, but have more difficulty in that area.
My favorite family cooking traditions
i like making tamales, but they take FOREVER!!!! i also like making "agua de horchata" -rice water (i don't know howelse to say it in english)and coco cemado - a baked coconut cake that is really crispy on top and that is glazed with condensed milk.
My cooking triumphs
my mother always loves when i make one of my salads for her- i always think they are simply and bland, but she likes them.my sister loved when i made my spicy cajun chicken on top of linguini pasta
My cooking tragedies
when i started to get into cooking, i was in charge of making the mashed potatoes for thankings giving dinner. since i was making it from scratch, i asked my aunt the porportions of the ingredients. while i was writting them down, i miked up my tablespoons with my teaspoons and added WAY more pepper than needed. i tried to take out as much of the pepper as possible and thinking that i did i just finished making the recipe. when we all started to eat the potatoes, we practically wanted to spit them back out.
