Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2007
This was edible, but not great. It was greasy and I used less oil as suggested by others. The edges rose and were cakey but the middle was flat.

My family loved these. I used fat free sour cream and fat free cream cheese. Nobody knew.

This was OK, just not what I was looking for. My husband didn't care for it.

Best Barbequed Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2007
I had no complaints from anyone at my table after trying these. They were great. Although they have alot of traditional meatloaf ingredients, they do not taste like meatloaf at all after grilling. To simplify, it may have feathers, webbed feet and a bill, but if it dosen't quack, it's not a duck.

Oat Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: May 12, 2007
Unfortunately, I just looked at the star rating on these and made them as directed without reading the reviews. They were horribly bland. After eating them we agreed that cinnamon and raisins would probably make them much better. I topped them with come cream cheese icing which made them edible but it kinda defeated the purpose of the low fat low sugar muffin. As written, the recipe gets only one star.

Sausage Plait

Reviewed: May 3, 2007
The dough for this was good. Not sure we liked the filling too much. I seemed like more dough was needed to cover the meat and it was a little too soft to work with. Edible but we probably won't make it again.

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2007
I made this in two batches yesterday. One batch was a pale color and not as crispy as the second. I made one the the morning and one in the afternoon. I think humidity was a factor, but both batches tasted great. I lowered the cooking time to 4 minutes plus 3 minutes for 1100 watt oven. Also since my peanuts were already roasted, I did not add them till halfway through cooking.

My husband and I ate these but didn''t really care for them. My kids wouldn't touch them. Lots of remarks about the unappetizing appearance.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
This is a great recipe. I don't think I have ever had bread pudding with "just bread". I have always had it made with leftover doughnuts, cake, cinnamon rolls etc. Freeze those leftover bread products and when you have enough, make this! I made it with cinnamon rolls and it was excellent. Because of the sugar on the cinnamon rolls, I cut it down by half and didn't add additional cinnamon. I am feeding a crowd this weekend and will surely have doughnuts from Saturtday leftover, therefore Sunday morning we will have this bread pudding! Once a freind of mine had some lemon cake left and used it (minus the icing) along with doughnuts and it was delicous.

Lasagna Alfredo

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
I thought this was good, and my husband who requested it said it wasn't quite what he was looking for. The recipe calls for 2 jars alfredo sauce but has instructions to use only one and a half. If I make it again, I will use only one jar and use 2/3 with the chicken and 1/3 with the spinach. Also, I am not a great ricotta fan so I only used one container of it instead of 2, and it was plenty. Any more ingredients and my lasagna dish would have overflowed.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
My family thought these were "just OK". My daughter said she could not taste the bacon. We decided they might be better without the sugar, and I didn't even use as much as it called for. They did taste better dipped in spicy brown mustard.

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2007
These were really good. The reason I didn't give it an extra star was because, even though they were very good, I have had better. I halved the recipe and used 12 medium peppers.

Pistachio Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
This was good but I don't think it was anything to rave about. I used a tub of cool whip with the pudding mix for icing and should have used 2 tubs as it was a little grainy. I might try this again using lemon pudding.

Incredibly Delicious Italian Cream Cake

This was really good. I took suggestions and cooked about 5-10 minutes less than instructed. As with all cakes, baking pans should be lined with wax paper. Icing is wonderful.

Pork and Green Chile Casserole

This was good but after adding water, it was too liquidy. I might use chicken instead or pork next time since my family is not so fond of pork.

Chicken Boston

Grating an onion was a blinding experience. I thought this recipe was good but my chicken loving daughter said it was too sweet. My husband said if I liked it I could make it again but he would not look foreward to it.
