Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
I've made this 3 times now .. and to me it just doesn't taste right. Something is seriously missing taste wise for texture and consistency it deserves 3 stars. It would probably be ok adding flavors but, as a buttercream frosting this is very disappointing to me.

Baked Potato Soup

Excellent choice for a dinner after the pumpkin patch and carving pumpkins! Warmed everybody right up. For those who think it's a broth with potatoes your obviously not using enough flour!! It's a keeper!

Pill Bottle Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
I've know these cookies to be called CREME WAFFERS because they melt in your MOUTH.. and they get better each day!!! These are a must have every holiday season. I double the recipe and match two batches.. One to give as treats and one to keep as the whole family simply devours these cookies up. Some tips... This recipe seems like to fly by if you have a partner helping you. Also the tip with taping 4 forks together is a HUGE time saver with pricking your dough. Also they need to be only lightly golden. They are extremely fragile but that is the joy in them.. melting in your mouth!!! When it comes to frosting them... I used the buttercream frosting recipe halfed it and made green frosting and red frosting as well as some white. But use your imagination and use jelly as somebody else suggested or even a lemon filling would be awesome!!

Instant Russian Tea

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2006
HERE IS THE DEAL WITH THIS RECIPE......ALL THE SPICES AND FLAVORS NEED TIME TO BLEND TOGETHER BEFORE TASTE TESTING AND DECIDING THAT IT NEEDS MORE THIS AND THAT...... ALWAYS ADD/DECREASE TO YOUR LIKING BUT DO GIVE IT TIME LIKE MOST THINGS....ALWAYS BETTER THE NEXT DAY.

Arti-Cheesy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2003
When I asked my family if this was a keeper they all said YES!! I doubled the recipe as I have large family put in two cans of soup one can of mushroom and one can of cream of celery. Only put in a few artichoke hearts and no olives (just forgot!) Everybody had seconds. There were no left overs. I served this over 'mini' penne pasta noodles and it was just awesome! Thanks Doug for a luxurious twist to my chicken!

Simple Salmon Chowder II

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2003
This soup was a big hit...everybody loved it. I used leftover salmon all flaked up. I used a can of yellow and white corn mixed. It was delicious! I also needed some potato flakes to thicken it up just a bit. However I will make this again!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Wacky Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2002
I have made this cake many, many times and every time it turns out even more yummier than the last time!! All my kids ask for this cake on their birthdays...it's always gone in one day (we have 5 kids!) Try it you'll love it!! Use whatever frosting you like. I always make my own. Sometimes vanilla, sometimes peanut butter, sometimes creme cheese.
