Easy Guacamole

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
Simple amazing! Simple, and amazing! Nothing else I can say; also, it's very versatile, can add your own variation of whatever you like, whether it be salsa, or sour cream, or whatever. Just great!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2013
Yum! I didn't have graham cracker so I used pretzels and a little bit of sugar. I also added a little bit of whipped cream and it was delicious. Definitely a keeper, thanks!

Cajun Style Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
Thanks, Heidi! This was absolutely perfect; the assembly was a little messy, and I didn't blanch the peppers, but the end result was perfect. I will definitely make this again. I couldn't find andouille sausage, so I used some regular breakfast sausage, and they turned out fantastic! Two thumbs up. Everybody loved it.

Yummy Tater Tot Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
Oh my, this is pure heaven in a dish! I mean this is the definition of comfort food. This is my new favorite staple of breakfast, brunch, and dinner. It's pure wonder. My husband loved it! What a wonderful treat on a cold winter day. To be honest with you I don't even know if I followed the recipe to a T, and I didn't have cheddar cheese so I used mozarella and it was still fabulous. Also I used regular ridged chips, not sour cream and onion. Fantastic. A++, thanks Jana!

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2013
Love it, perfect, great every time. Wouldn't change a thing - oops, well, I use butter, not margarine, and I think it's fabulous! This is the BEST, everyone loves it.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
Been making these for years! Never had one person say they don't like them. Easy, simple, and tasty! Great for any occasion, I definitely recommend using the mint oreos and dark chocolate! Very tasty, and fun to experiment. My sister calls them better than, well, the three letter you know what word, balls! ;) Thanks!

Shortbread Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
I loved this, it was fantastic. It was buttery and delectable, just like a short bread should be. I cut the recipe in half, and it still yielded more than a dozen, so the measurements are off. I added a pinch of my favorite instant coffee and they tasted great. I wanted to dip them in some chocolate, but I'm not sure they'll make it that long! ;-) Thanks for a great recipe, this one is getting saved for sure!

Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
These were great. As someone who has never made homemade noodles, I felt very accomplished and impressed with the results. They're so homey; thicker than regular noodles, fabulous taste, and a wonderful texture. I had cut the recipe in half for just two of us. These are fasntastically easy, also. For those of you who have never made homemade noodles, they take a lot longer to cook, but they are so worth it! Worth the effort to have completely home made noodles. Bravo, thanks for the recipe!

Frosty Strawberry Squares

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2013
These are yummy! I didn't have a 9x13, so I used a smaller pan and obviously my crust was plentiful. I followed the recipe to a T, and changed nothing. It was light, and just the right amount of sweetness, but I think personally it might have had a bit too much crust. I chopped my strawberries instead of slicing, and they came out great. Thanks for the recipe, will likely make again!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
Loved it! Very tasty. Big family favorite; Added some sugar to make it a little more juicy. Nice summer dish; only complaint was that I didn't have enough space for the chips, and some of them got burned. Maybe I'lll use two sheets next time.

Carrots Au Gratin

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
Lovely; very good way to get everyone to eat veggies. Absolutely delicious. Of course, I used whole carrots and it took much, much longer to cook, even with cutting them in half. Next time, sliced carrots will suffice. But the whole thing was good; the recipe would be good with other veggies, too.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
Success! I cut it down to eight servings, since it's just two of us, and it was a success. My husband [who is a very big fan of jalapenos] ate almost the entire thing. This is definitely going to be a favorite of mine from now on for entertaining. Thanks Denise!

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Great! Just made this for dinner, and I loved it. After reading another review, I added some black beans and it totally amped it up for me. My husband loved it, too, and since he's a bit picky, it gets double points for that. The cilantro and lime make the recipe. I used mild pace salsa, and it really put a nice, subtle kick to it. For me, it was a bit messy, but that's what made my husband love it so much! Will definitely make again, thanks!

Baked Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
Not bad! It turned out to be a kind of a cream soup for me. I used turkey bacon, but unfortunately I didn't have cheddar cheese or chives, though I'm sure it would have made it fantastic. It came out really thick, as other people have stated, but adding some extra milk would definitely help thin it out. Anyway it kept us full and made a lovely quick new years eve dish. I'll problably make it again, thanks TLNATION!

Corn Tortillas

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2013
This is what I use. It's really great, simple. I use it to make my gorditas, but you know I also add salt. I definitely recommend using a tortilla press, although when you make them by hand it's a lot of fun (And good for kids, too!) and they have that 'homey' look to them. My mother in law taught me how to make tortillas that way, and using this basic recipe. Glad to see it on Allrecipes!

Mexican White Rice

Reviewed: May 20, 2013
This is not bad, but I must say - Mexicans do NOT cook like this, so really it's not fair to call this "Mexican rice." What you want to do is rinse the rice, then sautee it in some vegetable or olive oil until it starts to become brown. Add the vegetables (Try before the rice gets too brown, so it doesn't burn), and you can use water and chicken stock / broth, one or the other or both, if you wish. Milk is not used to make savory rices, it makes it sticky. Save the milk for when you make arroz con leche. ;-)

Apple Spice Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
Very good! And tasty for a fall dessert. However, I don't really approve of the icing. It came out much runnier than expected, even after adding more confectionar sugar; I'd recommend using a different icing. But, other wise, good.

Tres Leches Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
Honestly, I give this one a boo. Maybe it was just me; but there was way too much liquid in the pan, even after I drained it. I think I'll look for a new recipe next time.

Easy Peanut Butter Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2013
The flavor of this was really good. I was concerned at first, because the dough had the consistency of cookies, but it came out good. I'm only giving it 3 stars, though, because after following the directions to a "T", and baking at the suggested amount, it was still doughy. After being in the oven for still another ten minutes, they were more firmer, though the bars that were in the middle still were a bit doughy and fell-apart. Other than that, a pretty good recipe, thanks! I think next time I'll make them in a bigger pan, making them thinner and possibly a little crispier.
