Mardi Gras King Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
This tasted really good, great recipe. I can't say if it's a true king cake or not, but it was delicious. I do need to comment on other's comments...Rolling out this cake is not simple since it is bread dough. Making one big braided bread results in too large a cake that doesn't cook through without modifying the baking time and temp. The modified icing of milk, sugar, butter and vanilla was good, but use half the vanilla it calls for. Otherwise, thanks to everyone for their useful comments! Great recipe.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
Easy and very tasty, enjoyed by the whole family. Although, if you over fill the cups, these tops of these will mess your muffin pan up and require a good soak to remove residue. Didn't peel out of the muffin paper liners very easily either, but not sure if because I should have used different paper liners.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2006
VERY good. My 12 month old loves it, which is great since I load it up with extra cup of zuccini. Be aware that the mixture may seem stiff before you add the shredded zuccini, but once you add it, it thins out. Don't add extra liquid to the recipe until AFTER the zuccini is added!

Special Occasion Stuffed Crown Pork Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2004
thank you! this came out great for my dinner party. For me, the crown cooked much faster (had 8 meaty ribs) so I would recommend keeping an eye on the internal temp of the meat as well as an eye on the clock.

Carib Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2002
I increased this recipe to accomidate the two bags of beans (4 cups) I had to purchase. The soup was a hit at the office party and I froze 1/4 of it for myself. One recommendation: hold down the lid on your blender with extra strength if you are not use to using a blender...this soup is not fun to clean off the walls, floor, fridge, etc...

Shrimp Bisque II

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2002
This recipe was FANTASTIC! I made this bisque soup, then poured the cooled soup into ziplock bag-lined 16oz cups, then froze. When completely frozen, I removed the soup filled ziplocks from the cup molds and had a dozen servings ready to defrost on a moments notice in my freezer. This recipe is not an easy one, but VERY fun to make with a friend (you will probably need help with the cheese cloth straining - it's a slow messy strain). HIGHLY Recommend for taste, show and fun challange to prepare. Serves nicely with fresh tomatoe grilled-cheese sandwiches. Thank you!

Spicy Tortilla Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2002
These are perfect for Christmas parties since you have white cream cheese, red pimentos and green chile peppers. Very delicious. I like to double the recipe during the holidays then only do step one and freeze the logs. When I have a party to attend or throw, I defrost that day and cut when I get to the party. I serve Salsa on the side. Thanks for the great appetizer!

Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2002
SOOO Delicious! This was a hit at my holiday party! I used the left overs for the cream cheese block idea too and that went fast! Thank you for this fantastic unique twist on a boring old favorite.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2002
Fantastic taste and presentation! I love it as well as my guests! I did have left over like the other reviews mentioned, which I just discarded. With the amount of time involved and number of ingrediants, this is a great dish to serve to a group at bruch, although I wouldn't cook it for just me and mine. Again, Fantastic!

Cranberry Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2002
VERY delicious and they come out looking and tasting like I hoped! And fun to make! I took another reviewers advice and used a small containor of plain yogurt and it was great. Dough will be sticky, so have extra flour on the side for your board, hands and utensils!

Artichoke Dip I

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2002
Very easy, very quick recipe for a party appetizer. I promise you that people will stand around this dip! When I buy the can/jar of artichokes, I usually cut them up even more so I just have a big pile of artichoke pieces...makes for easier dipping with toasted bagette slices.
