I am a retired teacher. I love to cook and I am good at it! I have two older sisters and a 90 yr old father that I cook for so I am always looking for recipes that will store/travel well. Soups, pies. I learned how to make giblet gravy from my mother. People rave about it. This last year I made 16 GALLONS of it for our Thanksgiving dinner at church! Thank goodness it only comes around once a yr. Learning to grill fish!!! I can do it now. In fact, I rarely order grilled fish at a restaurant because I know mine is better! But there was definitely a learning curve that my husband was very patient with! My husband took pictures of this catastrophe!!!. I thought I could substitute a can of cherry pie filling made with splenda for a regular can of cherry pie filling. After turning out the coffee cake that has a layer of pie filling in it. I watched red molten lava start oozing out the sides, the top started breaking up and sliding to one side and onto the cabinet top. I kept trying to scoop it up and put it back. There have been few times that I have laughed this hard! It was virtually all over everything!
