Mustard Sauce for Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Made this today for our Easter ham dinner & it was excellent! I followed all the directions except I used white vinegar & added a couple tablespoons Malt Vinegar for extra flavor. Everybody loved it, it was absolutely delish!

Coconut Curry Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2012
This was surprisingly good! Had to adapt a few things...Substituted kumquat jam for the chutney cuz we had none. Also no tomato soup on hand, but used a jar of tomato sauce instead. Cut the curry down a little because DH dislikes it. Added a few red pepper flakes and WOW! This was a hit! Even my picky DH enjoyed. Next time I'll saute some onions and omit the onion powder and it's a keeper. Thanks for submitting this!

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2012
Made this substituting vegetable oil with non-GMO olive oil. Threw everything in the food processor, worked like a charm! Delicious!

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: May 16, 2013
We LOVE basil so this was wonderful! I made just the sauce for leftover chicken. Cubed the leftover chicken into it and served over rice. It was a hit with the fam so I know I'll be making this often. Thanks Emily for sharing it!

Canned Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2012
I really liked the taste & ease of this recipe but unfortunately no one else in my family enjoyed it. The refried beans gave it a 'muddy' texture that everyone but me complained about. I honestly thought it made it hearty & satisfying. ...But because of the complainers I won't be able to serve this again:^

Tomato Pie I

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
This was really delicious. I also pre-baked the crust & salted the tomatoes to drain before adding. To save a few calories, I think next time I'll leave off the bacon & the mayo & add mushrooms. Great recipe, thanks!

Pumpkin Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2012
Needed a dinner idea and had bow-tie pasta homemade pumpkin in the freezer, and this recipe came to the rescue! I gave it four stars only because I followed the advice of the others and among other things, started with a rue. Added chopped onions, garlic and fresh ginger along with the other spices in the recipe. Also added some thyme which was great in there. Oh, used half-n-half rather than milk. Lastly I tossed in a handful of kale that was hanging around and VOILA! a simple, cheap & excellent dinner. We'll definitely be putting this one in our meatless-Friday dinner rotation. Thanks much for posting this!

Ham and Pumpkin Satay

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2012
Needed a change and liked this dish very much. Had to substitute crushed red pepper for the serrano. Sauce was a little too thick so I added a little half-and-half which made it creamy. Served over organic brown rice with chopped cilantro on top. Will make again...Thanks for submitting this!

Portabella Nirvana

Reviewed: May 8, 2013
I used five giant portabella mushroom caps. I followed the recipe for the most part and gave four stars but only because instead of Italian dressing which we're not crazy about, I used lemon juice, olive oil & butter for the marinade. No crackers either, I made bread crumbs by throwing stale rolls in the food processor with a teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning. Will do it the same way again because this turned out FANTASTIC!! Thank you for posting this LJALEXSTADT as it made a great side dish and saved us from a boring dinner tonight!

Kale with Kiwi

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2013
This recipe looked so interesting I just had to try it. I doubled the ingredients (for four servings) and made it as written except for using curly kale and substituted 1 tbsp dried oregano for the fresh. Sorry, but nobody in my family including myself cared for it. The oregano was especially overpowering, and the kiwi tasted like very sour lemon. If I ever make this again I think I'd cut the oregano way down and use only half (or less) of the kiwi called for.
