Added peas to it, loved it with and without! Super easy and was a great compliment to the blackened chicken, also from this site, that i made.

Super easy to make. I added shallots and would definitely add them again but great without!

As a side dish, we think it's a 3 tops. As something to add to a shredded meat (or fish) taco, 5!

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
I was worried about salt after reading reviews so I didn't add any extra - no bouillon, used garlic powder and it had plenty with just the cream of chicken soup. Rated it 4 stars because I think if I'd added the extra salt, it would've been too salty. Great over biscuits!

Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
I would have loved this with the stuffing but DH doesn't like it so used idea from another reviewer and used box scalloped potatoes, including the sauce packet (and nixed the butter). I was planning on serving broccoli with it so decided to just throw it in. I also browned the chicken first and then cooked it in the oven at 450 for about 30 minutes. I know lots of changes but the original recipe would've been great - the ingredient mix is what makes it and its easy to modify. Thanks for sharing!

Creamy Asparagus and Peas Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
This was good and would make it again! I didn't blanch the veggies - added the stem pieces with the onion along with some garlic and lemon zest to up the lemon flavor, and then added the tips and peas near end just to eat through. I also followed bn's advice and added the bacon at the end so it stayed crisp. For company, I'd blanch the stem pieces to keep them greener.

Pierogi Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
As is I'd probably give it 3 stars but that's only because I'm used to my FIL's. Next time I make it, I'll be adding a lot more onion, maybe some sour cream to the potatoes and have extra butter to drizzle on after it's cooked to mimic the frying in butter we do to our peirogies - for me that'll take it up to 4/5 stars (along with my waistline!)

This is very good, seared first but not sure that was necessary.

Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
I would definitely make this again - flavors are great! Except (hence only 4 stars), I'd saute the chicken just to get some color on it and then use the mix to baste rather than marinade and not assume it needed the whole hour. Mine turned out swimming in a watery juice and the meat was dry the first time.

Heavenly 'Apple of My Thigh' Dessert

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
I made it without the sugar and it was plenty sweet, ate it with granny smiths - would be good with graham cracker sticks too I think. Definitely a go to recipe if you need to put something together fast!

Sarah's Applesauce

Terrific! I used granny smiths and love the tartness. Ended up not really mashing - mashed itself and the chunks that didn't made a little bit of contrast. Definitely will make again.

Fresh garlic with the onion instead of powdered. Added a handful of mild cheddar and a handful of sharp cheddar. Mom loves Panera's and said this soup was "the best ever"!

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: May 14, 2011
Saw this as a recommendation to a request and had to try it - has everything the husband likes! Had to use fresh basil (only kind I had), added 1 bunch of green onions and ended up using a whole block of cream cheese. Will definitely make again.

Mizithra Browned Butter Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
I too have made this for years but it's been years since I was able to find the cheese. Just made it again tonight! I forgot how salty the cheese is and didn't use unsalted butter - will try to remember that for next time.

Easy White Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
This is one of those recipes where it depends on what brands you use/what you like. I used Tostitos Monteray Jack Queso, a rotisserie chicken and a brand of green enchilada sauce I'd not tried but trusted. Easy weeknight meal I'd absolutely do again - even posted it on my facebook status! Thank you for a great recipe.
