Boston Baked Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
My family requested 'vegetarian' baked beans for Easter. I made this recipe and omitted the bacon. I know this would be amazing WITH the bacon - but these beans are so good, that honestly, I didn't miss the bacon either. Excellent!!!

Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Very simple, delicious recipe. I made this as a one pot meal and added baby carrots and new potatoes. The vegetables were delicious too! Recipe took longer (about 20 additional minutes) to cook to even reach 165 degrees. I baked in LeCreuset casserole and clean up was easy. One comment indicate that there wasn't enough pan drippings - I ended up with 1 1/2 cups remaining. I fixed the Chimichurri sauce as others recommended - and while I loved that sauce, the flavor of this roasted chicken stands alone and doesn't need the Chimichurri.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
EASY ... and DELICIOUS!!! I used canned POTATOES and added frozen peas.... consistancy was perfect! We love this!!! It freezes well too! EVEN EASIER VERSION - I sauted small onion in butter, added sliced/drained canned potatoes - sliced canned carrots, 1 cube bullion & 1 or 2 tsp Poultry seasoning. I then added 2C milk and 1 package of McCormicks Country Gravy - allowed gravy to thicken then added the turkey. I left it all in my cast iron skillet and topped with a ready made pie crust. FAST FAST FAST & EASY EASY EASY - DELICIOUS very close to the original version of the recipe!!!!

Chess Cake

This recipe is also known as NEIMAN MARCUS BARS! I've looked for over a year for this recipe! EXCELLENT! I love to use Cast Iron Skillets and the crust gets very crisp, yet not over done in a cast iron skillet and the filling gets cooked without the crust getting too dark.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2003
This is so EASY and so DELICIOUS! This has become a family favorite. I have also used yellow cake mix - This is a perfect recipe for "Carry-In" dinners - I divide the recipe into a 9" inch and 4" iron skillets. Perfect for carrying out and making sure there is some left at home for family!

A Good Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2003
EXCELLENT! I added fresh pressed garlic. This is much, much better than any prepared sauce and you can control the consistancy. Cook it longer for a thicker sauce.
